CONSERVATIVES TURNED LIBERAL!

A RANT – PART I

Over the years we’ve heard the hand-wringing and weep, wailing, gnashing of teeth, etc. from the left about how dangerous conservatives were.  Naturally they are insane in their fears.  Good, decent, God-fearing conservatives love and honor freedom.

Conservatives cherish individual rights.

Conservatives wax poetic on the role of the small business-person and the horror stories of governmental interference.

Conservatives treasure the family.  Family Values have been a hallmark of their many political platforms forever.

Conservatives treasure the sanctity of the individual to basically do the Star Trek thing – seek out new life, new civilizations and boldly go where no one has gone before!

Conservatives base their entire ‘theology’ on the right of self-determination.

Conservatives abhor the intrusion of the Federal Government.

Conservatives fight for the fight of local self-control and self-government.

Conservatives go to court over the right for local school districts to maintain control over the Federal Government.

Conservatives fight for individual freedom and democracy – where ever!

Conservatives do not approve of intrusive government in any form.

Conservatives value the role of the parent child relationship.

Conservatives will fight to the death to defend small business from government attack.

This is reflected in the Republican Principles:
Republican Principles

I'm a Republican Because...
I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.
I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.
I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.
I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.
I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.
I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.
FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government….”

Now, read the Declaration of Conservative Principles as adapted by The National Federation of Republican Assemblies.  The above GOP Principles are kept, but a few others have been added.
“…For over two hundred years, the United States of America has been the model of freedom for the world. Many sacrificed everything they possessed to come to this land of the free. Our system of freedom, God-given rights, and limited government has been the envy of freedom-loving people worldwide.
But, America has changed. Government, at all levels, now does for us what we should rightfully do for ourselves. Our political leaders compete to provide the most socialistic services to constituents. As government has provided us with more, our political leaders and judiciary have usurped more power, and we have forfeited many of our precious freedoms; as a result, our Republic has deteriorated into a democracy.
America is being surrendered to a new world order. Our leaders, both elected and unelected, view themselves as international reformers rather than statesmen or patriots. They have a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, seeking the establishment of an absolute tyranny over the states and the citizens thereof. To prove this, let the facts be submitted to a sober nation:
They do not honor God in the public forum and despise those that do. They have lost their moral compass.
They have ignored God's Law as the basis of the Common Law. They have substituted a capricious and arbitrary judiciary for our historic system of common justice. They have created excessive volumes of laws without endorsing moral restraint. They have established policies, which grant favor to the law-breaker over the rights of the law-abiding.
They have abandoned respect for the sanctity of human life. They are destroying the family as the foundation of a free society by establishing punitive economic policies. They have taxed our children's children without representation. They have created class envy through a redistribution of wealth by unjust, inequitable taxes.
They do not respect the natural, beautiful differences between men and women. They have dishonored motherhood by forcing many mothers from their homes and children into the workplace. The nurturing love of families for children has been stolen by strangers in day care.
They have perverted our ballot processes with no accountability or traceable records. Their campaign reforms have established a protected class of career politicians who cannot be fairly challenged.
They have enacted innumerable, burdensome regulations.
They have undermined the sovereignty of our separate States and forced them into collective submission to a federal agenda through economic blackmail.
They have corrupted public education by establishing and protecting corrupt monopolies that teach socialist adaptation and collectivism over fundamental principles and eternal truth. The rich history of our God-fearing citizenry has been supplanted by humanist revisionism. They have mandated instruction in a new set of values, which will destroy our great constitutional Republic in the future.
They have established policies of confiscation without due process. They have violated our fundamental rights of private property and security in our persons, houses, papers, and effects.
They have enacted laws that infringe upon our right to keep and bear arms - a right that serves as a protection against the tyranny of an oppressive government….”
A RANT – PART II
Considering all the above, considering all the air time Rush Limbaugh and his associates have devoted to the preservation of CONSERVATIVE VALUES, why are conservatives willing to abandon everything they hold dear in order to enact immigration reform? I heard Mike Gallagher on FOX, absolutely furious with any number of duly elected (of the people, by the people, for the people – you know democracy in action) mayors in the state of Texas who are vehemently opposed to the Great Wall Against Mexico. They are reflecting the wishes and desires of their community, being duly elected of the people, by the people, for the people, etc. etc.

They are exercising the CONSERVATIVE value of home rule, of the community to fight excessive government intrusion that will include the following:
1.  Right of self-determination
2.  Prevention of government to impose draconian laws on local entities
3.  States’ rights
4.  Confiscation of private property
5.  Destruction of private property
6.  Destruction of the community
7.  Literally separating portions of an individual’s property, dividing some in half.
8.  Dividing communities in half – some on one side of wall, some on other
9.  Literally dividing some businesses and colleges in half.

These are not conservative principals.  Mike Gallagher outright demanded the Feds step in and force the local govermnets to adhere to this program.  He has demanded the Feds strip all funds from these cities and force them to BEND TO THE WILL OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

After the first of the year in Arizona, if a business does not conform to the new draconian laws which will literally force at least 10% of the legal work force into unemployment because of government paper snafus that business must CLOSE.

In Arizona they have enacted the most draconian DWI laws in the nation.  The state has become the poster child for every liberal’s worst nightmare.  It is an example of conservatives gone extreme and run amok.

The problem – conservatives are allowing John Tanton (an extreme liberal) to control their every thought.  The SPLC does not call him The PuppetMaster for nothing.  He has taken his liberal, pro-abortion values and manipulated good conservatives into becoming nothing bur shills for liberal, big government values.

This is not conservative.

It certainly isn’t Republican.

It is pure liberal.  Just think the following have turned into flaming liberals because of the draconian laws that will empower the Federal Government to toss away the last vestiges of individual and states rights. Oh the bitter irony of life.
Rush Limbaugh
Sean Hannity
Mike Gallagher
Michelle Malkin
Ann Coulter
Laura Ingraham
Duncan Hunter
Tom Tancredo
Ron Paul
Etc. etc. etc.

Once again the FAKE REPUBLICANS REAR THEIR UGLY HEADS.  This time it is the Conservative Leadership Conference.  Conservative = Republican, right?  Well, then why is it co-sponsored by the LIBERTARIAN PARTY?  Interestingly, JoAnn Davidson, Co-Chair of the RNC withdrew. Check the list of speakers. http://www.clc07.com/speakers.html  Check the exhibitors.  Seen any bona-fide Republicans? http://www.clc07.com/exhibitors.html
Of the 50 speakers check out the number of actual Republicans. Aside from Dick Armey, Mitt Romney and Mark Sanford and Shannon Reeves, the rest of the Republicans are more like” Libertpublicans”.  This is almost entirely libertarian.  I know Newt is one of the co-sponsors, along with the Libertarian Party (Yep, go figure it).  Ultra conservative – or shall we say extreme conservative Republicans include ultra right Duncan Hunter,JD Hayworth, and a few misc. GOP members of the House who are no more GOP than…well.  This is disgusting.

THE RIGHT IS FURIOUS - AGAIN
The right is up in arms again over the fact that GWB is enforcing international law
“…Last year, a Texas state court held [JURIST report] that President Bush "exceeded his constitutional authority" by mandating that US courts follow a March 2005 International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision giving individuals rights under the Vienna Convention and saying that the US was obligated to grant review and reconsideration of their convictions and sentences to the ICJ. The plaintiff in the case, Jose Ernesto Medellin [ASIL case backgrounder], filed a habeas corpus petition arguing that the US had breached his right to contact the Mexican consulate for legal assistance under Article 36. The Texas case will be considered by the US Supreme Court [JURIST report] in its upcoming October 2007 Term; oral arguments are currently scheduled for October 10. The North County Times has more…”

The bottom line here is this is fine for me.  I don’t believe in the death penalty.  I think GWB should do this for every person on death row.  If you are truly pro-life as I am, we have no right to execute anyone.  My one exception is for treason.

I don’t know about you, but I think maybe we need to follow some of these international laws.  I think “aliens” need to be informed about their right to contact their embassy upon arrest.  I know I would want that right if I were in a foreign country.

What is it about immigration that causes (allegedly) good, God-Fearing, right wing, small government conservatives to lose all perspective on every single aspect of life and abandon values they have held dear and turn into such BIG GOVERNMENT liberals they make Hillary Clinton blush.
