ARE “CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVES” REPUBLICAN?
Are White Evengelicals dumping the GOP?
Rasmussen finds that nearly a third of Republicans would vote for a Pro-life third party candidate instead of Giuliani.
Can you say President Hillary Clinton?
That is what will happen, and the far right knows it.
Richard Viguerie launching petition drive against Giuliani
A QUICK RANT
As I have mentioned repeatedly, Richard Viguerie and his ilk are the ones who made so many problems for Ronald Reagan, and now LIE about how loyal they were to him. The only thing the likes of Viguerie and James Dobson want is POWER, absolute corruptible power. They don’t care who or what they hurt to get it.
CONSERVATIVE NOT REPUBLICAN
Chuck Baldwin, who isn’t even Republican, says a Giuliani nomination dooms the GOP and the USA! Since he’s “Constitution Party” he has no credibility. I am not beyond thinking Baldwin will do anything possible to destroy the GOP for personal gain and personal power. he's another of those power sucking preachers. Baldwin is one of the reasons I do not call myself a conservative.
“…I told Dr. Corsi, "A lot of conservative Christians will never vote for Rudy Giuliani." I will even go so far as to say that no genuine Christian conservative could possibly vote for Giuliani. And, no, it does not matter that Hillary Clinton might be elected President as a result. A Giuliani or Clinton choice is tantamount to a choice between Nero or Caligula.
Let me say it plainly: a Hillary Clinton administration would be no worse than a Rudy Giuliani administration. In some ways, it might not be as bad. At least, with a Democrat in the White House, conservatives might try to act like conservatives and muster the energy to actually oppose some of her liberal proposals.
The record is clear: when a Republican is in the White House, conservatives not only lose their backbone, they also lose their brain cells. They walk around in a daze without the ability to even see what is going on right before their eyes. They become "mind-numbed robots" with no commitment to principle whatsoever. Why? Because one of "their own" is in office. At that point, it becomes a "see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil" situation. If two George W. Bush administrations have taught us anything, they have taught us that.
Of course, there are pseudo-conservatives who will argue that Giuliani is better than Hillary, because he will not be as prone to raise taxes as Hillary would be. These are the Rockefeller Republicans who could not care less about the murder of unborn babies, or the destruction of the American family, or whether any citizen maintains the right to keep and bear arms, or whether U.S. sovereignty is surrendered, or whether our country is led by a modern Napoleon, or whether America is merged into a North American Union, or whether illegal aliens are granted citizenship, ad infinitum. The only thing they care about is their pocketbook. They are piranhas who only want to manipulate politics to feed their own selfish and greedy interests. They would vote for the devil himself, if he promised them more money….”
Please notice that CHUCK BALDWIN IS NOT A REPUBLICAN. He is a shill for the Constitution Party. He is involved in all things Ron Paul and all things nutty. He believes in the North American Union take-over. Conservatives need to wake up and smell the pernicious odor of mendacity before it is too late.
Today Wizbang briefs us on the Third Party Hysteria surrounding some Third Party Conservative Idealogues. He references an NRO piece by Jim Geraghty about Rudy Giuliani, James Dobson, “Religious Conservatives” and the push for a Rick Santorum VP spot.
“…“If a Rick Santorum or a Mike Huckabee goes to James Dobson and says, ‘look, before I accepted the offer to be his running mate, I looked this man in the eye. I sized him up, and I know he’ll be a help to us. He gets us. And if you sink him, you sink me,’ then how can he go on?”
Then, he noted, religious conservatives weren’t huge fans of George H. W. Bush… until he picked Dan Quayle as his running mate. He pointed out that Bush did himself a world of good not just when he picked Quayle, but when he took on the media’s criticism of Quayle. This strategist said he could easily see a similar scenario, where Giuliani picks a Santorum or Huckabee-type figure; the Katie Courics and Keith Olbermanns of the world rip the nominee, and Giuliani comes out swinging in defense of his pick….”
This whole scenario is absolute disaster for the GOP. Once again AJ Strata brings his unique and sage wisdom into the argument with his take on things. “…The Far Right may be a lost cause. Face it, if they are willing to knowingly elect Hillary by throwing their votes away on the fantasy alibi of a 3rd party candidate then they truly are lost. They seem willing to lie to themselves they had nothing to do with Hillary winning, when in fact they will be the key to her success. They can kid themselves all they want - the rest of us just ain’t buying it. They will not be strong, valued, trustworthy allies if they do this. And they seem hell bent on doing this.
It is just stunning these people could even contemplate such a move, especially given the crippling damage it would do to their pro-life causes. Abortion on demand is just the minor travesty that would result. Endless factories of human embryos being harvested for spare parts will bring us a future too similar to that in the movie The Matrix to comprehend. It is not beyond the realm of reality that we could one day have more embryos in factories waiting to be harvested than in mothers waiting to be born. This is the brave new world these people would help shepard in if they turn their backs in a pique of frustration. The only thing I can do is pray for these misguided people. Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do….”

Conservatism With Heart has some interesting information on the subject of James Dobson and a third party. He was on Hannity’s show yesterday. Evidently “Chatterbox” was able to get a phone call through to Hannity and pose a question or two. It is so obvious to me that Dobson is on an ego trip and is willing to take the GOP down with him in order for him to become the “Kingmaker” of the GOP. I don’t know how else to call it. The man is on an ego trip
MY RANT OF THE DAY
(and it’s been a long time in coming)
I’ve been thinking about this for ages. I’ve rant and raved about it until I am so frustrated I could shout. I’ve come to the realization it really doesn’t matter what we do or say to these people. I also wonder if we are actually dealing with “Republicans” or something else. For months I’ve been telling you there are ultra conservatives out there alleging to be Republicans. While I am not doubting there is a certain portion of the GOP “extreme” base who are single issue voters, I keep thinking one day people will stop long to enough to realize the GOP has been co-opted by something ugly.
A GOP activist who will remain nameless sent me an email this evening. He is discussing a conservative “Republican” who will also remain nameless.
“…My impression … has no affection for humanity, and that is a terrible failing in a politician. I have been blasting SOME Christian conservatives for quite some time. They believe the way you get a constitutional amendment is to shout at the top of your lungs that you want one. …”
Another GOP activist wrote this to me.
“…I do not in any way feel represented by the cabal of Right Wing talkers, bloggers, TV pundits, etc. If we continue to allow Western Civ to be represented by flamethrowers and conspiracy nuts, we may lose the war. I honestly think our first order of business is to step away from the echo chamber and regroup into a party that might actually attract normal people -- meaning non-political junkies like me. I now find Rush, Ann, Laura, Sean, Bozell, et al. stale, unserious, and uninspiring in the extreme. They had their decade (the 1990s) but should have shed the old skin after 9-11-01. Instead they've become many of the things they claim to despise, and I don't want to go there with them just for old times sake….”
The above aren’t Republicans. At least they aren’t the Republicans I have known and loved over the years. Unless – we are being sold a false bill of goods and are dealing with conservatives who are loyal to an ideology. If so, we need to separate from them ASAP. Do you know what a real Republican is? The definition can be found in the words of the Republican Creed and the Republican Oath. I do not choose to be a common – person. I am an individual. I do not march lock-step with an ideology or jump when a TV preacher or Radio Talk Show host tells me to do so. I take my time, use my brain, and act out of REASON and LOGIC.
As for me, let me quote a friend who is a member of the RNC.
‘I PROUDLY VOTE THE ELEPHANT!”
THE REPUBLICAN CREED
I do not choose to be a common man.
It is my right to be uncommon.
If I can seek opportunity, not security,
I want to take the calculated risk to dream and
build, to fail and to succeed.
I refused to barter incentive for dole.
I prefer the challenges of life to
guaranteed security, the thrill of fulfillment
to the state of calm utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence,
nor my dignity for a handout.
I will never cower before any master,
save my God.
It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid.
To think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations;
to face the whole world boldly
and say, "I am a free American."

THE REPUBLICAN OATH
I believe that the proper function of government is to do for the people those things that have to be done but cannot be done, or cannot be done as well by individuals, and that the most effective government is government closest to the people.
I believe that good government is based on the individual and that each person's ability, dignity, freedom and responsibility must be honored and recognized.
I believe that free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive have given this nation an economic system second to none.
I believe that sound money policy should be our goal.
I believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, age, sex or national origin. I believe that persons with disabilities should be afforded equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity as well.
I believe we must retain those principles worth retaining, yet always be receptive to new ideas with an outlook broad enough to accommodate thoughtful change and varying points of view.
I believe that Americans value and should preserve their feeling of national strength and pride, and at the same time share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.
Finally, I believe that the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
