ILLEGALS CAUGHT STEALING RELIEF SUPPLIES
Just when you thought it was safe to go into the water…(cue the Jaws theme please) Malkin reports that those dirty, evil, nasty thievin’ illegals are at it again! The godless (read Catholic) hordes are now stealing relief supplies. Dear Lord in Heaven have Mercy Upon Us!

“…Six illegal immigrants who were suspected of stealing relief supplies from Qualcomm Stadium were arrested by Border Patrol agents after San Diego police stopped them Wednesday morning.  A woman who had been evacuated to the stadium told officers she saw the group load up two pickup trucks and a car with cots and other supplies, leave and then return, said police Sgt. Jesse Cesen~a.  When officers stopped them, a member of the group said they were being paid to take things of value from the stadium.  "They were stealing a lot of stuff," Cesen~a said. "We took the stuff back and we escorted them out. They were stealing from the people in need."  Because some members of the group spoke Spanish, officers called Border Patrol agents at the stadium for relief efforts. They determined the people were in the country illegally and arrested them.  The Border Patrol agents are among 100 that the federal agency has been providing for relief efforts, said agency spokesman Matthew Johnson. He said the agents are not looking for illegal immigrants among people seeking refuge at the stadium.  "We're not out there doing immigration stuff in the middle of a disaster," he said. "However, we still enforce the laws."

A MINI RANT
Okay, this is tacky and disgusting, but what the Divine Ms M has not mentioned is the fact that there are many LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS doing the same thing. Very early or late this AM when I couldn’t sleep I was listening to FOX. They were describing the fact that once someone figured out that no one was requiring an ID for people to get relief supplies in San Diego, they required them. A huge number of people left, without supplies, leading authorities to surmise a NUMBER of people – LEGAL – were helping themselves to all the ‘free stuff’. It will be interesting to follow the story the story and see if we hear anything more.

EQUAL AND OPPOSITE
I am afraid conservatives take so many things at face value and are extremely naïf when it comes to funding and who calls the shots. Do you think George Soros exists in a vacuum? There’s some law of physics, I don’t remember which because physics bores me. (I like geology, archaeology, paleontology, and astronomy for dummies) But there is this law of physics that says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. George Soros did not start this game of non-profit MAD. Sorry, it started with the right. Richard Mellon Scaife is one of the right’s major funders. He is worth billions. Well, he’s involved in a very nasty divorce with no pre-nup. I’ve heard he’s a very nasty person, very secretive. It is possible he might make George Soros look like a pussycat. Well, he could lose many of his billions in a divorce. Is this going to effect his seemingly endless bankrolling of conservative causes?

Who do you think bankrolls the Heritage Foundation, Abraham Lincoln? Well, this is the man who is founding conservative family values.

And this tryst was no one-afternoon stand. Ritchie Scaife describes Vasco in court filings as her husband's "mistress."…”

GAY DUMBLEDORF
Newsbusters defines the hysteria of the right about the outing of a ‘beloved’ literary figure. Lord have mercy! All you had to do was look at the way the man dressed. Ace of Spaces is the perfect example of the over the top worked up conservative. Come on guys. This is not reality.

HOMOPHOBIA
My hair-dresser, Leroy, has a theory about men who are homophobic. They are latently closeted. I have a feeling he is right. He ought to know. He’s been “out” since he was 14 years old. He and Leroy grew up together. They celebrated their thirty year anniversary as a couple about a month ago. Both received jewelry. They were an item in junior high, went to the prom as a couple and no one even blinked. But then again, that’s New Mexico for you. The Wild West has a tradition of live and let live.

Seriously, this conservative angst and homophobia does lead me to suspect that the male who is so totally against gay men is definitely suffering from a little problem with his own identity. Same thing holds true with women and lesbians, though women have a tendency not to be as squirrelly about lesbians as men are gays. Go figure.

TIRED OF BUSH OR CONSERVATIVES?
I think the US is suffering from Bush Fatigue – and Bush Derangement Syndrome. Let’s face it, at the end of the Clinton Administration, even die-hard FOB’s were tired, maybe not of B&H but all the you know what they had to put up with. I think that’s the problem with those of us who are still total and complete GWB supporters. I’m sick and tired of all the do-do from both the right and the left. If conservatives would behave themselves and stop running around like unhinged ding-bats, maybe things would be easier. But, as Michael Tomasky reports:
