Read Pajamas Media about the Real Person of the Year. I agree.
The question of the day: Why is Saddam Hussein any different from John Tanton? Why is Tanton, who has personally facilitated the murder of tens of millions of innocent babies through abortion any different from the Butcher of
The answer of the day: John Tanton, champion of the anti-immigration, and anti-illegal right (and super liberal – I love the hypocrisy of it all) and his associated in the myriad of anti-immigration organizations have very deep pockets. Their money filters down from on high, anointing people like Tom Tancredo and funding their campaigns. So, I guess it is alright to associate with people like Tanton, whose anti-immigration pedigree comes directly from the Pioneer Fund and their Nazi origins as long as they keep pumping money into your campaign and use all the RIGHT buzz-words.
Okay, yadayadayada I know the old internet joke about all conversations ending up at Hitler, but check out the information about The Pioneer Society. It is well-documented. Thing is Saddam's political structure was patterned along Nazi principles. The Pioneer Society's anti-immigration seed money came from Nazi
For those following the saga of Mommy cat and the four babies, she played musical kittens again yesterday. They are now up under the bed, right under where my pillow is. Last night I woke up to catch her sitting on the pillows looking down under the head-board watching them. When Rumsfeld comes home tomorrow I will end up putting a gate at the door of the guest room to keep the little guy out. Right now he’s enjoying his vacation with his grandparents. My last update is he now sits on his grandmother’s lap during meals and nibbles while she hand feeds him. No wonder he enjoys it there. Here he is stuck eating out of a plastic bowl, on the floor, fighting the cats for food.
We had about six inches of the white stuff last night. Could be a heck of a lot worse. I have a cousin who lives outside of
I ended up reading most of the night. Finally finished the new J. A. Jance mystery. It is a very good story. I recommend it.
THE DEATH OF A MONSTER: I was a little self-righteous yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, Saddam deserved everything he ‘got’. I just have a serious problem with capitol punishment. I think it is barbaric. I am pro-life. I do not approve of abortion. I think it is barbaric. I think late-term abortion is horrific and grotesquely barbaric. How different is capitol punishment from late term abortion? Someone provide a logical, non-pontificating, non-accusatory answer for me, please because I just don’t see any difference. To me the only exception is treason. Then, I think the person should be shot and be done with it.
I don’t even approve of the execution of serial killers or sociopaths. Their deaths serve nothing, no greater good. Death is not a deterrent. I heard some comment on FOX yesterday, oh, from that disgusting Joe Arpaio, Sheriff of
Does Arpaio think executing a person within 30 days of sentencing and appeals expire is a deterrent? Does the man actually think the fate of Saddam Hussein is going to make would be murderers and sociopaths and dictators in this country stop and consider what their fate may be?
Joe Arpaio is a fool. I have always thought he was. I also think, if the detainees at Gitmo were treated as badly as he treats those who are in jail in
What good is the death penalty, anyway other than families of those who are murdered to seek and feel some sort of vengeance and ‘closure’ when that person is dead? Instead of seeking vengeance they need to be seeking and offering forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer says …”Forgive us our trespasses (sins, etc) as WE FORGIVE THOSE who have trespassed against us.” Scary, isn’t it? In other words we are forgiven as we forgive others. Constantly wanting vengeance isn’t forgiveness. It doesn’t get you forgiven. It doesn’t even make you feel better. The only thing that makes a person who has lost a loved one to violent crime ‘feel better’ is forgiveness and resolution within one’s own heart. Trust me, I know from experience.
I’m sorry, but those photos of Saddam Hussein on the gallows with a noose around his neck are vile and barbaric. He is dead. I like to picture his death as being ushered to hell by those seventy-five virgins (all in penguin suits, hardened from years in the trenches teaching in Catholic schools) all mercilessly hacking him with rulers and pushing him over the edge into that figurative burning pit of fire. If Dante is right, he’s down in that final rung of Hell, feasting with other monsters like Stalin, Hitler, Nero and Mohammed. (Notice how I threw that last one in?).
One additional comment: Napoleon, who was just as brutal, barbaric, and caused just as many deaths was exiled, never executed. Wonder why? Yea, yea, I know he escaped and eventually met his own personal
Enuf said. I am just going to provide a listing of links to the various ways the story was covered. Let your conscience be your guide. Maybe that’s not a good analogy since many of you are strict and very strong adherents of those brutal anti-immigration and anti-illegal theories pushed by John Tanton and the Pioneer Fund. Okay, enuf hasn’t been said. I want to know why John Tanton and the Pioneer Fund, who helped formulate
Live with it.
Links to misc. coverage of the death of Saddam. Frankly, I'd much rather be watching the death of OBL!

OUR GUYS: Ben of Mesopotamia on the Kerry photo. It continues. All the stuff going on in the world… Prayers go to the Right Wing Guy who is answering the call to help preserve freedom. Somewhere I read that being in the military is a true calling, much like the ministry or any mission. Those who serve deserve our thanks, prayers and respect. They’re doing what the rest of us are either unwilling to do or are unable to do. They are all that stand between us and the barbarians who are massing at the gate. Anyone who criticizes a man or a woman who makes the choice to serve their country deserves our ridicule and our contempt. Too bad we can’t practice that old Amish tradition of shunning! Along this line, the closest thing I will have to a brother retires as a LTC in the Army reserves in about a week. He has already begun working on his paper-work to re-enlist as a volunteer. His son, Matt is on his way to
PRIMARIES 2008: Larry Kudlow’s RPC blog about Edwards ‘not getting it’. I think Kudlow is missing the point. Edwards’ message is exactly what a certain branch of the Dems want to hear. Novak reports on Biden’s plans to hold hearings to upstage major GWB speeches at the end of the month. Look for much grandstanding out of his committee with all those wannabe Presidential hopefuls! Finally, some issues stuff on Obama - abortion. Hotline on Call and the breakdown of some of the latest poll numbers. Romney still keeps pulling about 6%. For the GOP it is the John & Rudy show, I think.
