You’d better read The Captain’s Quarters today.

I was planning to write about an incident that has occurred this past month, but have been so busy dealing with attorneys, depositions, information, etc. I just don’t have time this evening.  I plan to go into the problem extensively sometime in the next day or two.  The bottom line is this:  We need to create legislation that puts an end to third party collections, collection agencies, and zombie collections.  I am spending hours fighting a third party law-suit.  To add insult to injury I’m now being hounded by a zombie debt collector over a disputed AT&T bill that was settled (I was right) a decade ago.  I must now stop and write a cease and desist letter, then contact all the credit agencies. I’ve been attorney shopping for three weeks.  (It’s not a big deal, but could end up costing me several thousand dollars).  I finally ended up right back here in Ruidoso with just the right person who takes the whole problem seriously.  I’m not quite sure the direction to take, but many people have had their lives and reputations ruined by legal extortion.  It needs to end.

My business site, Wyatt Earp Books, is finally up and half-way running.  It has links and information to my books.

I am having serious problems with this hanging of Saddam.  I don’t believe in the death penalty except for treason, when I think a person ought to be shot on sight. I just don’t know how I feel about this one.

Malkin has the low-down on that photo of Kerry dining alone, and the uproar that it may be a fake.  Bottom-line here, it’s fairly certain the photo is not bogus.

Strata-Sphere has more on the Litvinenko incident.

There is more on the break-away Parishes in Virginia.  Once again I think good minded conservatives have been manipulated and have been made to look bad.  Father Jake Stops the World has a link to even additional information  I keep repeating myself, I know, but surely Fred Barnes has investigated Akinola.  If I can find out what he is, why not others, but then I have noticed the same problem when we are dealing with the anti-immigration people.  I was talking to my friend Leroy today as he scalped me (looks good).  I presented my theory that Akinola is so horribly homophobic because he fears himself.  Leroy mentioned that it has always been his observation that people who are extreme in their anti-homosexual views are terrified of their own sexuality and the fact that have these tendencies.  We also had a discussion about gays/lesbians and marriage.  Funny, but Leroy, who has been in a committed relationship since junior high (seriously) dislikes promiscuity as much as do I.  He views promiscuity as a sin.

Yesterday I wrote about animal-rights do-gooders an what is going on Key West at the Hemmingway House.  “I have no patience for animal rights do-gooders.  Because of the complaints of an animal rights activist on Key West, the famous Hemmingway cats have been spayed or neutered (she did it on her own without getting permission of the museum) the line is in danger of going extinct.  Also, the feds want to take the cats.  I think the museum should go after her for damages. “  I emailed the museum yesterday, also, and this is part of the response…

“…It is typical of our country to have diverse opinions on what  the best way to handle anything upon which we do not agree! Some of the animal rights persons are a bit over zealous. This same person is under scrutiny by a local animal rights group for her involvement with the local SPCA and some of their practices. That is a separate issue, however is another example of differing opinions. and the fact that she may not be the animal lover she professes to be in the eyes of everyone else.

We are asking that people write to their Congress persons in the hope that if there is enough public out-cry, some common sense will prevail. I would think the taxpayers money would be better spent on finding a cure for mad cow or addressing puppy mills? However those problems are not located in quite such a nice vacation spot....

We appreciate your kind words and support. Happy New Year!...”

Dimwit Sheehan arrested outside Bush Ranch.

Prince Harry heading to Iraq in May.

WOW!  British researchers are almost at a point where they have a vaccine for just about every major strain of flu virus!

The Right Wing Nuthouse on Dirty Harry missing the Ford funeral.  FYI:  My mother has never liked Betty Ford.  Fact is, I think she dislikes Betty Ford more than just about anyone else there is. So…oye!  Every time there is a news show she calls and starts this rant and rave she has been on…for 30 years!  I mentioned it was getting a bit old.  “If I want to talk about it I will!”  It is never ending – constant.  GOP Bloggers has more on the story (about Reid, not my mother’s constant ranting)

OUR GUYS:   Flopping Aces  draws attention to one of the milbloggers who was seriously injured and lost his right arm below the elbow.  Please keep J. R. Salzman in your prayers. The tears continue with Ben of Mesopotamia’s poignant commentary about the first year in the life of his son.  /    Don’t forget to pray for Matt and his buddies in the 82nd as they prepare to head for Afghanistan.   It looks like the Right Wing Guy is answering our country’s call.

Read Mark Noonan’s commentary on the battle Ethiopia is fighting.

I am finally in a position where I can make the official announcement about Wyatt Earp Books.

Currently there is one author (verbal contract) who is working on a book for publication by Wyatt Earp Books.  I am in a position where I can consider one additional book at this time.  If you are interested, check out the (finally up and running) Wyatt Earp Books site.  It should answer most of your questions.

We are looking for western, (naturally) fiction, non-fiction, biography, and even poetry.  All fiction must be family-friendly.  Cash advance and royalties are negotiable and depend upon author and project.

PRIMARIES 2008

Giuliani is leading in Nevada and Iowa.    If John Edwards is so good, is he going to denounce ambulance chasers?   Giuliani’s poll #’s are looking good.   The Giuliani blog has a good commentary on the under-dog front-runner.  Eye on 2008 has information about Huckabee’s fund raising.   Wizbang has a rather amusing tale of being under-whelmed over Edwards. Why Clinton’s nomination puts Florida in play.  Liz Mair over at GOP Progress has the latest Romney flipping and flopping.  I can’t even attempt to explain it.
