Don't forget to contribute to the campaign of the 44th President of the United States of America - Rudy Giuliani.

Have you ever been so ashamed of your behavior that you felt you needed to come clean, that your behavior has been a betrayal of all you believe.  Well, it’s that time of year for me.  I know, I need to wait until Lent, but I think it is time for confession.  The confession is prompted by an out of the blue phone call by one of the most important people who has ever been in my life.  I would rather talk to Fr. Ron right now than I would the President, and that says a lot.  Maybe once or twice in our lifetime, if we are blessed, we get to meet people like Fr. Ron.  He is the most amazing, most positive, most irreverent, most devout person I have ever known.  His love of our Savior is so complete and so full of joy that he radiates laughter, often his own, no matter where he is, or what the condition.  (And I’ve seen him in some rough conditions).  I dedicated my book, A Church for Helldorado to him, saying he is the perfect example of what a priest (Episcopalian) and minister of the Lord should be.

Just visiting with Fr. Ron for a few minutes made me snap to attention and behave myself.  For the past two months I’ve been bitching, pouting, and behaving like a spoiled brat.  I am ashamed of myself.  I have betrayed my own personal standards of constant prayer and praise.  1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 tells us the following:  Rejoice always, pray without ceasing…

I have betrayed this by my bitching and moaning about but I guess we never really do.  I was treated so badly, and hurt so badly.  Maybe it is completely shallow because I thought I would get a little notice for my books, but I did not.  Maybe three have commented publicly about it and it hurts.  I do know if the books had been bad, I would never hear the end of it.  As it is there is this giant sucking sound – nothing.  So I have sulked.

Instead, I should have been praising the Lord.  Well, Praise the Lord!

Yes, I am thankful for the way I was treated.

God’s timing is everything and ours is nothing.  I needed to relearn this lesson and reapply it to my life.  I need to be joyous instead of being a bitch.  I’d rather be a bitch, but Christ wants us to be joyous!

Thank you for calling today, Fr. Ron.

Did the French have their sights on OBL and let him go - not once but twice?

You definately need to read Ankle Biting Pundits about Romney opposing the Contract for America!  They get the story from Eyeon80.

Lindsey has issued a press statement endorsing the President’s (he’s still President of the US until January 20, 2009 when Rudy Giuliani takes the oath of office as his successor – so deal with it) proposed troop buildup in Iraq.

"...I enthusiastically support President Bush’s decision to grow the Army and Marine Corps.  A larger military would provide us with additional combat capability in Iraq and Afghanistan and allow us to deal with other threats looming on the horizon.  We need additional combat capability and in war, there is no substitute for boots on the ground.

“The rotation schedule for our soldiers is strenuous and a larger military will take pressure off them.  Because of over-utilization we are on the verge of wearing out one of the greatest military machines ever created.  As ranking member on the Personnel Subcommittee of Armed Services, I will push hard to dramatically increase the Army and Marine Corps footprint.  This is a much-needed change in American military policy.”

If I were Stallone I would file a lawsuit against both Rosie and The Donald for upstaging the new Rocky movie.  How could Rocky possibly be a better battle?  This has the potential of being one of the great entertainment feuds.  My money is on The Donald.  I think it is hysterical.  But after listening to O'Riley this evening I think there is a serious turn to it.  I think O'Riley is right about this being a harbinger of the 2008 Presidential campaign.  The real losers are going to be the American people.  Dick Morris says the Dem campaign is going to be vicious. And you thought the guys over at RedState had no sense of humor.  They have a poll on the Battle of the Mouths going.

You need to read DJ Drummond’s commentary on George Will, Time, and the credibility of the blogsphere.  Good stuff.   Then RightWing Nuthouse has a magnificant commentary on the dark side of traditional values.  It starts out over at Wizbang.

AJ Strata continues the Litvinenko story.  Is anyone paying attention to the work he is doing?

THE GREAT DENVER SNOW STORM

I thought you might like to hear my cousin's story.  She lives in Louisville, not far from Denver.  Her husband Dale is a good guy.  He works in Boulder at the university.  Yesterday he decided to take the bus to work.  Linda and I were emailing back and forth all day over the weather.  I was complaining because it was cold and windy.  We had about 2 inches of the white stuff.  Where Linda lives, they were slammed.  When last I heard from her yesterday afternoon late, she was worried about Dale getting home from work.  This is her email.  Jordan is their 16 year old son.  Kara is their 9 months old Pekinese.

"Dale finally got home about 10:30PM.  I had been worried sick about him all day.  They had finally closed the College around 1:00, not to smart for being a College to close so late and a blizzard going on.  Dale left the college and walked over to the bus stop about 1:30.  He had to stand in the blizzard for 2and a half hours, freezing half to death.  Finally by 4:00, the bus pulls up, standing room only.

He was on that bus for 6 hours. Now grant you that he only had to come 2 miles, and it only takes 10 minutes, but the road conditions were so bad it took all that time.  He had to stand up for 3 hours, no one would offer him a seat, so I got mad and told him he had to go up to the bus driver and demand that all those people standing had to sit down.  Only one person stood up, and Dale gave the seat to a college girl.  Finally the bus driver got mad at everyone and just made them all stand up and give the seats to those standing.  Can you believe how selfish people are.  If it were me I would had grabbed the intercom and told everyone just what I had thought about their selfish behavior.

When Dale finally got off the bus he had to step in 6ft. drifts and try to get to his truck.  Once he found it he couldn’t get it out,  it was buried in a 12 ft. drift.  So he said he was going to start walking home.  I couldn't get the van out to go get him, so I called my neighbor next door, who had a 4 wh drive.  He found Dale walking down the road.  He looked like a snowman we he walked in the door.  I was never more happy to see him.  Kara ate off the snow on his pants.  She just loves the snow.  She went out and jumped and rolled in it.  I thought that she would be hesitant but wrong.  She just loves eating it.

Dale is over at the bus stop now trying to dig out his truck.  He’s been over their a while, so I hope he is making progress.  We measured and we got 22 to 24", and drifts were much deeper.  Jordan and Dale shoveled all morning.  It looks like we live in Alaska.  We have walls of snow 5ft. tall to walk though. I walked around the house to take some pictures and the snow came up to my waist.  I fell down and couldn’t get up.  I had to roll over on my knees and tried pushing myself up..  I thought I was a goner. Finally by the grace of God I managed to get up.  I hope he neighbors didn't see me.   Hopefully I can get out tomorrow and finish my shopping...."

From over at GOP Bloggers - Berger must go to prison.  And in the pinstripe watch genra why does Joe Wilson think he's too good to testify in the Scooter trial?

Was Sir Arthur Connon Doyle schitzo?

A fascinating piece about ending high school around age 16.  Let's put it this way, I am a kindergarten dropout.

PRIMARIES 2008

Caucus Cooler has an excellent commentary on Romney.  Captain Ed on Obama and why he would be a rotten president. Ankle Biting Pundits has someting about Romney that might just get lost if it isn't shouted.  Seems like Romney opposed the Contract with America - was that before he was for it or after he was against it?  He's starting to sound like another MA politician.  Check out the Giuliani watch today.  Draft Obama now a PACRomney the Independent? Jonah Goldberg now likes Giuliani.  In the only the egos catagory SC's Mark Sanford is thinking about running GOP.  You gotta be kidding.

This is terribly important (from Ankle Biting Pundits)...

"...UPDATE: K-Lo attacks a politician for flip-flopping, but (surprise!) it isn’t Romney.

UPDATE II: According to Eye on ‘08, Romney criticized the Contract with America because it was “too partisan” and because he doesn’t support cuts in the capital gains tax. Oh dear.

Update III: Rob Bluey of Human Events says: “I hate to say we told you so way back in June 2005, but our exclusive report, “Where Does Mitt Romney Stand?” laid out the facts quite clearly — in Romney’s own words. We told you what he said back in 1994 on issues such as taxes and abortion.”

UPDATE IV: NRO’s Rich Lowry seems surprised to learn that Romney was a Tsongas booster in 1992. Hey Rich, he’s on the cover of your magazine. ..."

This is Just Great - In the Bullpen says it will be a miracle if London is not hit by a terror attack this Christmas.  Great - my niece is going to be in and out of London.  Along this line, I think American Thinker has a very important piece about the con game the Flying Imans pulled that is a set up to get the Dems to denounce and end racial profiling and thus reason number one while I will not fly.  I'd end up in jail for telling some moronic TAS person off as I refused to empty the contents of my cosmetic case.  I'm not a terrorist.  We are not going to be safe until people have the courage to stand up and say I am not a terrorist and I am no longer going to accept being treated like one.

When well-meaning conservatives go bad and make everyone else in the GOP look bad. If you haven't read this letter, you need to do so.  No, I don't like Keith Ellison (See RightWing Guy) I also think he is a disgrace and I am ashamed of my father's home state of Minnesota  BUT - If he wants to use the Koran and try to make a statement re: the Flying Imans, then everyone including Dennis Prager should have shut up already yet about it and ignored him.  Ignoring his agenda would have been a fate worse than death.
