The Pink Flamingo’s 65th Edition Thursday Thirteen

They may not be the greatest movie scenes, but they are great - and they are favorites of mine.  Also they are the scenes I could locate on YouTube.  Okay, there are more than 13 scenes.  I can't pick.  Let's face the fact that we could do a whole TT just on Casablanca!  You may also want to notice how often Humphrey Bogart appears in this list.  The AFI did a list of the top 100 great movie quotes (or something like that) and Bogey had ...   more »

This Thursday Thirteen is dedicated to all the devoted Marx Brothers' fans, including my father and my friend Mark.  The Marx Brothers were pioneers of comedy and the movies.  Their work made it possible for future masters in the field from Alan Alda's Hawkeye to Saturday Night Live, to Laugh-In.  They were the kings of comedy before people even knew what comedy at the movies actually was.  If you have never seen their movies you are in for a treat.  My favorite is ...   more »
