As I mentioned in an earlier post, the good people at the Cat Blogsphere are helping a fellow cat-blogger who was the victim of a tragic fire.  They’ve also done something nice, but I don’t now if I can mention it.  Let’s just say ML proves my theory about Episcopalians being good people!

It is called Enterovirus 71 (EV71)  So far a few cases have emerged in Malaysia.  There are a number of cases in Singapore and quite a few in China.  One of the big problems is the fact that we have no idea how serious the disease actually is.  We're dealing with China, remember? To date (allegedly) 21 young children have died and around 3,000 others have come down with the intestinal virus known locally as Hand, foot, and mouth disease.  (It is not related to the traditional hoof & mouth disease).  The World Health Organization is worried ...   more »
