I think the title says it all.  I’ve discovered I AM NOT THE PROBLEM.  My DSL goes off periodically requiring a complete re-start, just about every hour on the hour.  It’s not my Ethernet cable.  It isn’t my NEW Airport-Extreme.  It’s NOT ME.  The problem is with Windstream Telecom.  I don’t know if it was part of that chain reaction that took down quite a bit of the East Coast yesterday or not.
