Spring Training Starts On Feb 14!

Remember that cute little fuzzy kitten I rescued?  She’s turned to a lean, mean, clawing machine!  This evening the little stinker is having her first hit of the C-nip.  I think she’s so crazy as it is the C-nip hasn’t phased her!  Evidently the little squirt has some sort of working agreement with Rumsfeld, who is letting her sleep on our bed!  I think they are buddies, which is good.  At least I’ve hauled her out of my huge jade plant so many times she now sees me coming and jumps ...   more »

Spring Training Starts On Feb 14!

We finally managed to get a little of the white stuff this evening during the debate.  Rumsfeld would run back and forth to the windows and bark at it.  I think we may end up with an inch or so.  The wind is so bad I don’t know if what we are getting is snow or just blowing snow.  By now you should have noticed quite a few Pink Flamingo changes.  Beth from My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy is doing the work.  She is available if you need a make-over.

Miss ...   more »

Spring Training Starts in 15 Days!

I'm not writing about the Florida primaries until the morrow.  Then I gloat, and have some information about more of those annoying conservative alliances.  Let's just say this could be fun....!

THE GREAT CAT SOAP OPERA

I’ve not had a feline update in awhile.  Rumsfeld is depressed.  He blames his depression on the kitten.  Currently he is pulling the rope out of the very nice chairs I inherited from my grandmother.  At least he is occupied.  The repair is coming out of his allowance.  Remember that sweet, precious, adorable little kitten ...   more »

HIGH FLIGHT
by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of...wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew.
And, while with silent, lifting ...   more »
