A Day of Death and Mourning

THE LAST STRAW

The proverbial last straw came for me today when I saw this Drudge headline, Dame Thatcher to be honored with state funeral... Enough death is enough death. Not only did we lose my very favorite journalist, (Memeorandum) but Yankee legend Bobby Mercer lost his battle with cancer. Legendary Michael DeBakey came close to making a century of life, but just couldn't quite make it. When I was a child, knew DeBakey's sister. She is the person who introduced me to my life-long idol, Laura Ingalls Wilder.
