SMARTER THAN YOUR AVERAGE ….?
This is my tribute to Barack Obama. It is a heart-felt piece honoring his apparent victory over Hillary Clinton. I hope it is taken as I intended – as abject sarcasm and farce. more »

A BARACK OBAMA ABORTION PRIMER There is another reason we need to band together to defeat Barack Obama. He is one of the most pro-abortion candidates we’ve ever seen. There are some terrifying new developments in assisted suicide in California. Considering Obama’s view on partial birth abortion and his plans to socialize medicine it has terrifying implications for everyone who isn’t absolutely perfect, young, healthy, and beautiful. It is literally a license to kill. Barak Obama "… "A woman's ability to decide how many children to have and when, without interference from the government, is one of the most fundamental ... more »

MAYBE NOT WHAT YOU THINK The first thing we need is a Hollywood face who is younger than my grandfather to help promote John McCain. We need a rock star. Conservatives need to start treating Hispanics with respect. They are our future, hard-line conservatives are (fortunately) a dying breed. The world is changing. Conservatives need to change. The first thing they need to do is understand, to comprehend that in order to win, John McCain needs to move toward the center. We all know they are incapable of rational thinking and behavior. They are too busy being spoiled and selfish. ... more »

The current theory is something has terrified the cats. Barbara found GrandMommy Cat today, behind her condo, with a new litter of kittens. She’ll be up here with them in a few weeks. We’ve managed to locate all but my beautiful long-haired tabby, the red and white male, and one of the tuxedos. I have a feeling two of the younger tabbies are dealing with new litters of kittens – their first.
Barbara, the condo manager, agrees with me that something happened last Thursday evening. That was the night Rumsfeld went crazy – kept me up all ... more »

SO DO I I like Steve Pearce. Thus said, I am furious with him for deserting his 2nd District House Seat and running against Heather Wilson for the US Senate Seat Pete Domenici is vacating. Right now, the way things look, not only are we going to lose Wilson's Congressional District, but we could lose the 2nd. The Dems are running another of those Blue Dogs that are decimating our House numbers. The way it stands now, if the election were held today, Democrat Tom Udall would easily defeat either candidate. I think in the long run, though Wilson may ... more »

PINK POLKADOT PIGS FLY The thing I dislike most about Barack Obama is the fact that he’s made me defend Hillary Clinton. This is one of the last things in the world I would expect to be doing, right up there with watching pink and lavender polka-dotted pigs flying. There are some women who consider Hillary Clinton’s run for the Rose Garden something akin to a second magical mystical mystery tour. There are those who all her efforts mythological. To that I say Bull! Magic has nothing to do with it. There’s nothing mythological about it. We’re watching a very ... more » Thursday, May 29

THURSDAY, MAY 29 ![]() The following dramatic photos, taken this afternoon, will provide The Pink Flamingo reader with evidence as to why I am never able to accomplish anything! The working conditions with which I must deal are deplorable. My working associates annoying and are only interested in having a good time. They have no respect for my work-space.

IT WILL HAUNT THEM I think one of the saddest things I’ve seen in quite awhile is this book by Scott McClellan. It is tragic. There is no happy ending for this story, none. Scott McClellan, unless he becomes a vast left wing nut, is finished. He has betrayed people who were good and decent to him. He’s burned his Republican bridges, but from what I hear from Michael Medved’s broadcasts, his mother detests GWB and the GOP, has gone third party. His father is a disbarred Texas attorney. I am sick and tired of Republicans Bush-bashing. Once again we ... more »

CONSERVATIVES AGAINST REAGAN
''It is unlikely that the Reagan era will prove to be the historic change in the direction of America that we have sought.'' Edwin J. Feulner Jr., president of the Heritage Foundation,1985. John McCain and George W. Bush should be honored to be in such august company as Ronald Reagan. Why? While Reagan was President, contrary to the lies that are being told today by Richard Viguerie and World Net Daily, Viguerie and fellow conservative leaders Howard Phillips and Paul Weyrich did their very best to undermine and bully him. Now though, they protray themselves as ... more » Wednesday, May 28

THE OBAMASSIAH AND IRAQ Once upon a time, (okay it was about 870 days or so ago) in a galaxy far, far away, Barack Obama visited Iraq. He was there for two days. He saw nothing that made him change his opinion that the US needed to pull out of Iraq. The day after he left President Bush announced the “serge”. Who would’a guessed? What do you do when you have a person running for President of the United States who doesn’t have either the courage to visit the our current battlefield or the inclination to do so. ... more » Tuesday, May 27

TUESDAY, MAY 27 THE PINK FLAMINGO’S (local) 1ST ENDORSEMENT ![]() I like what I see with C. Earl Greer. Frankly, he has a decent immigration policy that is not trying to out Tancredo everyone else in the race. The other candidates have rather extreme anti-immigration policies which are a proven loser in a general election. I have a friend who knows Greer and thinks he’s a decent person, an appropriate Republican. He has the monster boots of the late Joe Skeen (my friend Lisa’s dad) to fill. I like that he isn't trying to be more conservative than the other ... more »

NOT SO VERY CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVES This is what it’s all about. “…"All sides of the humanistic spectrum are now, in principle, demonic; communists and conservatives, anarchists and socialists, fascists and republicans," explains Rushdoony. "When someone tries to undermine the commitment to Jehovah which is fundamental to the civil order of a godly state--then that person needs to be restrained by the magistrate...those who will not acknowledge Jehovah as the ultimate authority behind the civil law code which the magistrate is enforcing would be punished and repressed,"….” From the SPLC “…Rushdoony, whose book is revered by Reconstructionists as their foundational document, ... more »

OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE? Is Bob Barr’s Libertarian Party nomination the Kiss of Death for John McCain’s Presidential efforts or is the impact of his nomination greatly exaggerated? I’m beginning to wonder if it might just be the latter. In 2004, Libertarian candidate Michael Badnarik pulled in less than 400,000 nationally. Granted Badnarik was a poor candidate. That same year, Constitution Party candidate Michael Peroutka did a little less than 150,000 votes. Ralph Nader came in third with about 465,000 votes. In 2000 the combined candidacies of Pat Buchanan (Reform), Harry Browne (Libertarian) and Howard Phillips (Constitution) brought in ... more » Monday, May 26

MONDAY, MAY 26 ![]() I was quite ambitious when I started working this morning. It did not last long. I ended up having a nice long nap- most sleep I’ve had in 6 weeks! I’ve not done a Memorial Day spew. I was going to, and was sidetracked by other things beyond my control. This has been a weird weekend, full of medial traumas. The third occurred this afternoon. My cousin, Jim Reidhead’s leukemia has returned. He needs a bone marrow transplant in the next couple of weeks. Please keep him in your prayers. My sister is feeling better today, but ... more »

CHANGE YOU CAN BANK ON? Is Obama’s Cash Cow Wrecking FEC? He could still end up in some very deep do do by manipulating the International Church of Christ’s non profit status. The Pink Flamingo has been hinting at this for some time. Grizzly Groundswell has more! “…The fact that Obama said this after promising explicitly that no campaign-related activity would take place during his appearance at the United Church of Christ shows that he doesn’t have much of a conscience at all. Obama’s conduct reminds us of a caller to a talk radio show who, after indicating ... more »

THE CHINA SYNDROME I think maybe we’ve not paid enough attention to the deadly earthquake that hit China a few weeks ago. It has the potential to be China’s Katrina, in more ways in one. It is entirely possible this quake will end up shaking more than the earth. It could be a pre-curser to an entire societal evolution. One telling aspect is the way the media was allowed to cover the quake. The Wall Street Journal “…But China's new generation of metropolitan newspapers, current affairs magazines and Internet media have all reported on the quake with an intensity and ... more »

OR COWARDLY PROSTITUTES POLITICIANS? Faultline has one of the best pieces I’ve seen on gas prices. I’d probably only link to it in the evening, but it brings up something I was going to write about yesterday but was sidetracked. Mentioned is the fact that travel is lighter than usual this Memorial Day. Where I am in New Mexico I WISH! Traffic is not down. Fact is, things are booming a little in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico when it comes to oil. There is so much money flying around here it is annoying. Yesterday I went in town ... more »

PHOENIX HAS LANDED I'm sitting here watching the downlink coming in - successfully! The solar array has deployed. The photos are excellent. It looks like one of the to come in are landscapes. We can now view a part of Mars we've never yet seen! So far the rocks are showing ice action. Cool. Phoenix landed with something like only a quarter degree off verticle. Evidently everything looks to have deployed (so far) properly. Phoenix is discribed as a "One Armed Geologist". The whole idea is that Phoenix will be able to reach out and touch rocks and soil, ... more » Saturday, May 24

STICKS AND STONES This evening after a long cooking session (nothing caught on fire or exploded, FYI) I sat down to start working on a couple of articles about Sarah Palin. My inbox was being accosted by requests for me to remove blogs from the I Vote the Elephant blogroll, to protest yours truly. First things first, I don't know what is the big deal about any blogroll. I know the requests were intended to insult, which is fine. To each their own. But to me a blog roll is no big deal. The world does not begin or end ... more »

Is Barack Obama on drugs? The other day Jack Wheeler sent out an email saying Obama was on drugs. My first reaction, since I think Wheeler is a crock and a fraud is just that. Atlas Shrugs has put together some additional information. Again- this is a for what it's worth and consider the source. Frankly, I give about as much creedene to anything Wheeler does as I do Larry Sinclair. Friday, May 23

GETTING RID OF THE CLINTONS Yesterday, as I was driving down to Alamo to see Indiana Jones, I was listening to FOX on XM. A piece came up about Senator Kennedy being unable to fulfill his obligation to deliver an address at graduation celebrations at Wellesley College, Hillary Clinton’s Alma Mater. Senator Kennedy has requested that Barack Obama deliver the address for him. Why not ask Hillary Clinton? She is without a doubt Wellesley’s most famous graduate. It was like a light-bulb finally being switched on in my pathetic mind. Ted Kennedy is supporting Barack Obama because he ... more »

A CAUTIONARY TALE FOR BARACK OBAMA I am not up on politics in the UK, but I’ve been seeing articles about the trials and tribulations of Gordon Brown, one so liberally promising, and now about to bring the whole Labor Party down on it’s tushie. It is a cautionary tale, one the Dems should take seriously. Gordon Brown is the UK’s version of Barack Obama. There are those who are betting he won’t last the summer. Evidently his leadership is a disaster. The UK is turning conservative again. I think this bodes will for John McCain in the fall. ... more »

CRUDE ANTI-SOVIET PROPAGANDA! The movie is crude, anti-Soviet propaganda! I told you the new Indiana Jones movie was conservative, which is why Harrison Ford did that liberal appeasement thing and waxed his gorgeous chest. Well, there are those who think the movie should be banned! The Commies are mad! Maybe I’m just being nostalgic for the Soviet Union and the stability (yes stability) of the balance of power between the two nations. The Soviets were a "fun" enemies. They were like everyone's self-righteous cousin at a family reunion, always good for a few laughs. They had no sense of ... more » Thursday, May 22

THE COWARDS OF THE CONGRESS Today the Anchoress mentioned if the GOP does not trash the farm bill, they are not worth saving. I don’t think many of them are, and for much the same reason. They’ve sold their souls to the highest bidder who an rally constituent support. THE DEATH OF THE MINUTEMAN MOVEMENT? I will not mourn their passing. Evidently, as all the little nasties start circling the wagon and finances just don’t add up like they should, all is not sweetness and light in Minuteman land. According to Jim Gilchrist, they’ve lost. Let’s face it, when you create an organization that involves a bunch of racists, thugs, and con-artist, not to mention the various personality disorders of its founder, you’re bound to run into a little problem every once i | ||||
