More Evidence Malkin Biased Against McCain
by
SJ Reidhead
on July 18, 2008 09:12PM (MDT)
INTELLECTUAL DISHONESTY
There is this great and growing dishonest of the far right, embodied by such luminaries as Michelle Malkin, Patrick J. Buchanan, and Laura Ingraham. So, today Malkin is reporting that Republicans in the House are not donating to John McCain, as if they dislike him or something. "...Looks like House Republicans are doing what a lot of grass-roots conservatives are doing–or rather not doing: Not giving John McCain cash. A divider, not a uniter? Via The Hill:..."
Malkin quotes from The Hill:"...Few House Republicans have contributed to Sen. John McCain since he clinched the Republican nomination ... more »

If It Weren't for the Election - Would There Be Any News
by
SJ Reidhead
on July 17, 2008 10:56PM (MDT)
THURSDAY, JULY 17 Happy Birthday Dustin Boulden 21 Years Old! It has occurred to me that if it weren't for the fact of the POTUS election this year, there would be absolutely no news. Is it boring, or is it me? Let's face it, it's boring. And frankly, I don't give a you know what about the new Batman movie. They lost me when Adam West was no longer Batman.
Tomorrow is the decorating phase for the annual church bazaar. I SWORE I would not be doing it, but a friend told my mother she needed my help. Naturally...I think ... more »

Is Sheriff Joe the "SHakiest Gun in the West?"
by

ARPAIO'S ERATIC BEHAVIOR
The Mayor of Phoenix considers Joe Arpaio the Shakiest Gun in the West!
"...Gordon, talking with News/Talk 92-3 KTAR's Darrell Ankarlo, said the sheriff has lost his focus and is not helping the county at all with reducing crime. "The continuing bizarre behavior of the sheriff, including last night's demonstration of anger and sarcasm, is continuing evidence that the stress and criticism of the office is affecting the sheriff's judgment," Gordon said...."I think with law enforcement, the last thing anybody wants is somebody with a gun, both that is angry and shaking," the mayor said. ... more »

LAURA'S MISFORTUNE
I know it isn't nice to laugh at someone's misfortune. I don't like Laura Ingraham any more than I like Ann Coulter or any of the other precious little conservative "witches". I think she is one of those conservatives who is not Republican and has done great damage to the GOP. I also don't mind admitting I think she was one of those responsible for the GOP's loss of the House and Senate in 2006. The thing is, the GOP isn't as bad as Ingraham, Limbaugh, and Hannity say it is. Let's just be honest and give them ... more »

Nicholas Corbett, Murder, Conservative Bloggers and the Border Patrol
by

on July 16, 2008 08:34PM (MDT)
WHERE IS THE VETTING?
Yesterday I reported that Nicholas Corbett, a Border Patrol agent accused of murdering a few misc. illegals from Mexico had a history of violence. I also find it rather fascinating that Corbett was hired by the Border Patrol and retained, even though the following charges were filed.
1. Corbett was arrested on charges of assault and physical property damage in Cheltenham, PA. 2. He assaulted someone in Chandler, AZ in April of 2007 3. He threatened and assaulted individuals in Mesa, AZ in March of 2007.
In Cheltenhem, PA Corbett went to and damaged his ... more »

THURSDAY THIRTEENThe Pink Flamingo’s 78th Edition Thursday Thirteen Thirteen Things on My Table (While I Am Listing Them) This week I am going to try and behave myself and not insult anyone. Is that possible? The stars of this Thursday Thirteen are Doc Holiday, Bat Masterson, and Beverly Sills.
I write on a dining room table inherited from my grandparents. It is the most comfortable writing location I’ve ever enjoyed. I’ve basically been writing on the same table, same chair, different footstool since 1994. While using the table I’ve completed and published 2 novels and 2 non-fiction books about ... more »

The Great Cat Soap Opera: Musical Kittens Act I
by

on July 15, 2008 11:02PM (MDT)
TUESDAY, JULY 15 I spent the day in Las Crucas with parental medical appointments. My mother's PK reading is still bouncing up and down like a basketball. By the time I arrived back home, Mommy Cat was playing Musical Kittens. She moved at least two of the little squirts from the closet and deposited them under the bed. It has dawned on me that Mommy Cat has a method in her parenting madness. Until their eyes are open, she likes to keep them sequestered in a closet. Then she moves them under a bed. I saw her move two of ... more »

More Damning Evidence Against Nicholas Corbett

on July 15, 2008 10:51PM (MDT)
PAST HISTORY OF ASSAULT & VIOLENCE
Do you remember back in the spring when BP agent Nicholas Corbett went on trial for murder? Every little anti-immigration blogger and supporter came to his defense, completely ignoring the evidence against him. Don't you find it rather interesting how people who would not condone this sort of behavior against any other ethnic group turn a blind eye when illegals from Mexico are assaulted?
Well, startling new evidence has surfaced against him. "...In a motion filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Tucson, Tyrone Mitchell, one of the prosecutors in the case, states that ... more »

NOTE: Hispanics Can Be Voters & Are People Too!
by
SJ Reidhead
on July 15, 2008 08:24AM (MDT)
DEAL WITH IT
John McCain understands that immigration reform is top priority. He, like George W. Bush, also understands that Hispanics are human beings. They are voters. They are NO DIFFERENT from anyone else. Unfortunately, there are any number of "conservatives" who are basically racist. The perfect example, this from Glenn Spencer's site:
"...McCain tells 'Tan Klan' so-called immigration reform is top priority..." "...Los Angeles Times 'Tan Klan' Soiree: McCain loses microphone to rabid Mexican Reconquista..."
Once again the anti-immigration conservatives, spurred on by their talking points delivered by Dan Stein, the "voice" of the John Tanton network ... more »

Too Many Bad Things Happening To Good People
by

on July 14, 2008 10:48PM (MDT)
MONDAY, JULY 14 I'm tired of bad things happening to very good people. I'm tired of good people dying from cancer. To make that affront to all that is, oh well, are those vile Westboro monsters who are planning to defile Tony Snow's funeral. Stop the ACLU has the video link to Fred Phelps, but I will not link to his YouTube video.
I first started listening to Mike Gallagher in the late 1980's when he was doing post-Rush drive time for one of the local stations in Greenville, SC. He's never really changed. I remember when he made the ... more »

A PINK FLAMINGO X-CLUSIVE: More Minuteman Fence Follies
by

FLINGING A LITTLE MUDThe Sierra Vista Herald has a fascinating little article about Chris Simcox, Carmen Mercer and the Minuteman Fence. Evidently our erstwhile heroes are still trying to raise money to build their precious fence. My first question: If Michael Chertoff is determined to bulldoze the Constitution and erect his little fence, why are the Minutemen, et al still bilking people out of their hard earned cash?

Contrasts - John McCain, American Hero, Barack Obama, American Ego

A TALE OF TWO MEN"...I was finding that prayer helped. It wasn't a question of asking for superhuman strength or for God to strike the North Vietnamese dead. If you don't think there is a difference, well, there is. If you are thinking about voting for one of those twitty third parties with spoilers like Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin, maybe you'd better think again. Jim Fryer at Real World Libertarian posted this. I pilfered it from him.

on July 12, 2008 09:17PM (MDT)
MALKIN, TANTON & PLANNED PARENTHOOD
This morning, I discovered a fascinating comment concerning the article I posted about Malkin and LaRaza. "I post on Michelles' blog on a regular basis and I am becoming very concerned about the level of anti-hispanic hatemongering that I see displayed there by both the hostess and some of her responders. Her hatred of John McCain and her willingness to derail his campaign is simply an extension of this.
It truly seems as though Ms. Malkin has lost all sense of proportion.
Her blog has been overrun by Paulians, supremacists, and freaks who are into ... more »

A Day of Death and Mourning

THE LAST STRAW
The proverbial last straw came for me today when I saw this Drudge headline, Dame Thatcher to be honored with state funeral... Enough death is enough death. Not only did we lose my very favorite journalist, (Memeorandum) but Yankee legend Bobby Mercer lost his battle with cancer. LegendaryMichael DeBakey came close to making a century of life, but just couldn't quite make it. When I was a child, knew DeBakey's sister. She is the person who introduced me to my life-long idol, Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Is it genetic or are their candidates so flawed they just can't help it? Bless Sister Toldjah who has come up with the story that Barack Obama is planning to sponser a NASCAR vehicle? A "Gang" of Republicans and Democrats, led by Rep. Neal Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) are thumbing their noses at Nancy Pelosi who yesterday, basically thumbed her nose at the American people. She had the nerve to say:"...“This call for drilling in areas that are protected is a hoax, it’s an absolute hoax on the part of the Republicans and this administration” Pelosi said at her weekly press conference. “It’s a decoy to punt your attention away from the fact that their policies have produced $4-a-gallon gasoline.”..."

WHERE'S OBAMA?
Today we have learned that during the month of June, John McCain has finally hit the mother lode when it comes to fundraising. He had a $22 Million Dollar June! When you add the funds the RNC has on hand, it's not looking all that bad. According to Outside the Beltway the RNC has something like $95 million cash on hand compared to the DNC's $10 million or so. James Joyner then noted the following:"...It’s a very bizarre strategy on Davis’ part to be bragging about McCain’s fundraising and ability to spend money. Wouldn’t they be ... more »

The Glass Ceiling, Appearances, and Equal Pay for Women

THE OLDEST PROFESSION
Today I stopped off at the bank to do the usual after a week out of town. I noticed that the girls working behind the counter were dressed in a manner that reflected more a ‘Friday’ casual look than banking Tuesday. If their attire was ‘serious’ banking, then I am afraid to see what ‘Casual Friday’ might entail. It reminded me of several things. First, are we going to you know what in a hand-basket because of our sloppy dress? Second, is it any indication of a lapse in societal manners, morals, and customs?

I was contacted by the RNC months ago, long before the call to bloggers went out, but I turned it down. I don't do crowds.
