View Article  Who Ordered the Conservative "Hit" on Lindsey?
SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE
Quin Hillyer wrote one of the nastiest hit pieces I’ve seen to date against Lindsey.    Naturally he is channeling Michelle Malkin who has this pathological hatred of Lindsey.  I think it’s because she dislikes anything Hispanic and Lindsey is not exactly a bigot, and sorta implied that she and her precious little friends are.   I guess since she is promoting Buddy Witherspoon, we all know who is handling her leash – the John Tanton crowed.  She’s also part of what I call the Dump Lindsey Movement.  It’s all part of certain non-Republican ...   more »

RAIN, GLORIOUS RAIN!

It began raining early this morning.  It has rained all day.  I went in for a color.  Leroy is still sick.  Margaret ended up doing a quick shampoo.  Everyone going into their saloon was happy!  It was like a holiday.  “Happy Rainy Day”!  It is the first real moisture we’ve had here since January.  Things were getting terribly dry to the point of danger – Extreme Fire Hazard.  This will help us crawl through until the monsoons begin on the 4th of July.  (Every year the rains start on the 4th of July – ...   more »

WEDNESDAY, MAY 14

I don’t know when I have been so angry while blogging.  What Mark Levin did today on his radio show was the most deplorable thing I’ve heard for a long time.  Right now I’m just trying to cool off before I say something I am going to regret.

My frustration level is reaching the boiling point.  The cats are driving me crazy.  Rumsfeld is acting like the little monster he is.  Then I can’t send out my email – or maybe I am and there are a few poor souls who will be receiving a dozen ...   more »

CONGRATS TO JOHN STEPHENSON OF STOP THE ACLU!
Reagan Dailene Stephenson was born on May 12, 2008. She weighed 8 lbs and 4 ounces. She is 21 inches long.

There will be no Thursday Thirteen this week.  I’m heading to Las Cruces with the parents tomorrow.  My mother has two different appointments. With luck we can do something about her toes.  When she was given a shot to help revive her after hear heart failure, it damaged the nerves in one leg.  She has a miserable time with the toes on her right foot curling. It ...   more »

I am still down with the flu.  It's not much fun, that's for sure. Rumsfeld has been enjoying the fact that he has more snuggle time.
An unassisted Triple Play!
Guacamole and the science of salsa!
That bright light that streaked through the NM sky the other night, giving visions of alien invasions was just a meteor.

Lindsey will introduce the bill for gas tax relief.

View Article  Why I Am Annoyed with Conservatives
SUNDAY, MAY 11

I want to set the record straight on a few things.  First, I am conservative.  I am not “A Conservative”.  I am conservative.  My conservative values have NEVER changed – except for my views on capital punishment.  I was for it, but then when I really began thinking about the pro-life implications, I cannot support it.  I do not believe in taking a person’s life – no matter who.  My only exception is for treason and then just shoot ‘em where they stand.  This is the only thing about my conservative views that has changed.  I want ...   more »

SATURDAY, MAY 10

Twenty-three years ago last night I was in Atlanta slobbering over Sherrill Milnes as he did Simon Boccanegra with the Met.  They ended their annual tours a few years later, but I sure did hear some great music while they were in town.  My mother and I would stay at the Colony Square Hotel, get a suite.  My aunt would fly up from Palm Beach and my mother's best friend would also drive in for the week.  We would do 6 nights of intensive opera, good stuff, too. The thing I remember about that specific week was ...   more »

FRIDAY, MAY 9

NOTE:  I am having problems with Blog Harbor and posting.  I’ve been trying for about 2 hours to get something to “take”.

I’m listening to the Met (Live) do MacBeth, one of my favorites. Carlos Alverez, doing MacBeth sucks. He’s okay, but he’s no Sherrill Milnes.   Jimmy is incredible though.  I saw a performance there, years ago, where I was sitting front row, two seats to the right of Jimmy.  During the ghosts of Scotland past scene, they both became ‘tickled’.  It was so much fun watching them keep from smiling.  Something amusing happened with one of ...   more »

THIS WEEK’S IMMIGRATION NEWS
They are now called Juan Crow Laws.

I have a real problem here.  I am noticing a growing trend within conservative (extreme, not Republican) blog ranks to classify La Raza as racist.  Along with that, there seems to be this under tone that maybe Hispanics are less than acceptable.  Or, if they are, we’re talking “OUR” Hispanics and the other (UPPITY) Hispanics.  Let’s face some very nasty facts here.  The same individuals who fought against the Civil Rights reforms and integration in the Sixties are the very ones helping to promote hard-line immigration reform.  Does ...   more »

THURSDAY, MAY 8

First up, Glenn Chang is graduating from New Mexico State on Saturday!  Congrats to he and his wonderful parents.  Glenn was telling me one of his classes was using The Pink Flamingo as part of their discussions.  He said everyone in the class but he and one other person were liberals.  It's not what they say about you, but that they are talking about you!

My blogging is “lite” today.  I managed to sleep (a little).  This is getting funny now.  I’m just not quite sure what a person must do to get a decent night’s sleep.  ...   more »

WEDNESDAY, MAY 7

Big Mac is taking Manhattan tonight to raise $7 million!  I HOPE! If he did not have my vote, he would with this!

Nothing is more annoying than either a paper cut or a head cold.  I have the latter.  I had no sleep at all last night.  I know one thing, I've proven that Air-Bourn really works.  I quit using it about a month ago.  This is the first cold /flu I've had in at least 2 years.  I've been using the product religiously during that time.

I can hardly keep my eyes open this evening. I've had so many Sudafed and so much Claritan I am ready to fall asleep - which is probably what I need.  Instead I spent the day running errands.  I'm so pooped I can't even go into what I did today!

Did you hear the one about A-Rod

Gavin Floyd almost gets a no-hitter this evening.

A PINK FLAMINGO RETRACTION:
Boy Was I Wrong!

From what I have been reading, the vaccine to the HPV virus, that they want to give to girls throughout the country (and I had agreed) is a very dangerous drug. Like I said, I’m sure glad I don’t have kids. I would have messed this one up, big time.

After a comment today, I checked out plant toxicity.  What we have here is a Pigmy Date Palm, which is not toxic.

I have the flu.  Let's just admit it and deal.  This afternoon I went back ...   more »

NEW HOMELAND SECURITY RECOMMENDATIONS
During the deadly flu pandemic the accompanied the Spanish Flu after World War I, actual numbers of those who died are still not known.  My grandfather Froehlich was almost a statistic.  Fortunately, my grandfather had a remarkable relationship with the Lord and a cast iron constitution.  He was in the Army at the time, having recently graduated from the University of Maryland.  Like just about everyone else in the ward, he was simply wheeled outside to die.  He started praying and survived.  According to family stories my grandfather was never sick another day of ...   more »

SUNDAY, MAY 4

My cousin, Michael, has a birthday today.

Unfortunately, I feel an opera binge coming.  Deal with it.  I have been in a state of denial for years.  It's back.  My mother will be very happy. I NEED A TOSCA FIX!

Actually I think I'm just sick and tired.  I've been working on several posts this afternoon.  During the process something that is halfway between Ebola and The Plague has hit, getting worse as the evening progresses.  I'm sitting here shivering and shaking, trying to stay awake.  Since about 3PM I've been dealing with the most annoying sore ...   more »

SATURDAY, MAY 3

Sometimes Miss Beverly Sills is just plain cute.  The worst of it is the little stinker knows she is cute.  Then, there are times (most of the time) she is so darn naughty, it is still cute!  Today has been one of those days.  I pulled her out of the big jade plant 3 times.  The third time she decided to try and bit me.  That did not work.  She’s been running around the condo like a critter on jet fuel.  Okay it’s cute.

FRIDAY, MAY 2

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the good people at the Cat Blogsphere are helping a fellow cat-blogger who was the victim of a tragic fire.  They’ve also done something nice, but I don’t now if I can mention it.  Let’s just say ML proves my theory about Episcopalians being good people!

This Episcopalian spent the afternoon trying to shake down local business owners – for gift certificates for the annual church raffle.  It’s for a good cause, so what the heck.  Fortunately everyone knows the money goes back into the community to various charities so ...   more »

BELIEVING IN MIRACLES
My friend Deb send an email to me yesterday, with a message for my friend Chris and her family.  It is so beautiful I want to share it with you.

A little background.  My friend is a living testament to Christ's love and the fact that HE IS in the miracle business.  She shouldn't even be alive, let alone walking.  Maybe 13 or so years ago Deb, a letter carrier, was on the job, going through the big intersection in Seneca, SC between Highway 59 and the 123 Bypass.  Someone ran the light, hitting her dead to ...   more »
View Article  WARNING: Blogger Has Fallen Off Genealogy Wagon and Can’t Quit
THURSDAY, MAY 1

It was bound to happen.  I’ve been avoiding the subject for about 3 years, ignoring my genealogy addiction, completely on the wagon.  Last night the worst possible thing happened.  I discovered I could tinker into ancestry.com and recreate my long-lost charts online and not worry about losing them every time I have a crash.  I am ashamed to say I went out on a binge last night. I stayed up until 5AM (yep, all night) working on the family tree.  I now have recovered something like 99% of the files I lost ages ago.  I need to ...   more »
