ENTERTAINMENT OR AN AGENDA?
This week Human Events is honoring Rush Limbaugh. Mark Levin has a Human Events column that can only be described as nothing but abject fawning, gushing, and outright worship. I am fully aware of Limbaugh’s good points. He is well known for his charitable work, and he donates a tremendous amount of money to very worth-while causes. He is one of the single largest donors to leukemia research. For that, I am personally grateful. His donations may have been the tipping point in the medical research that is keeping my cousin Jim alive (and maybe even ... more »

CONSERVATIVES HATE HIM? When is a conservative not a Republican? Are the one in the same? Or....can they be completely different party animals? I have an article over on Right Pundits that is basically an edited version of one I posted on The Pink Flamingo last week. I am pointing it out simply because of the extreme way over the top comments by Ron Paul supporters who consider themselves the minion army of their savior, Ron Paul, who is going to be the GOP version of Barack Obama. If only the extreme, very evil, and very stupid Republicans would dump ... more » Friday, July 25

WHAT GIFT GIVING SAYS ABOUT YOU? It is true confession time. While you may think I am this horrible "B_T_H", when it comes to gift giving, I am a total push-over. I'll be honest. I love giving presents. Nothing to me is more enjoyable than shopping for the perfect gift for someone, then presenting it in a perfectly wrapped package. It probably doesn't amount to much in this crazy mixed up world of ours, but to me it is a momentary sigh for a person. It is just a quickie little thing that says, "Someone thinks you are important." Okay, ... more » Thursday, July 24

NO TIME FOR SOLDIERS? Barack Obama had time in Afghanistan to shoot hoops with a selected group of soldiers. He had time to grandstand in Berlin. But, he DID NOT have time to visit our wounded Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. None ... more »
"..."We have a severe case of Obama mania in this town, and in Germany, I think, in general people are waiting for the political redeemer. It's seven years of Bush that have made people right for a new face, for a change. People are willing to fall in love again with the United States."..." Tuesday, July 22

HIS LIPS ARE MOVING
"...“It is not going to be a political speech,” said a senior foreign policy adviser, who spoke to reporters on background. “When the president of the United States goes and gives a speech, it is not a political speech or a political rally. “But he is not president of the United States,” a reporter reminded the adviser...." FAKE, BLING & GIANT I emailed one of The Pink Flamingo's readers earlier this evening that Obama is starting to believe his own press. When that happens, a person will soon be toast. The American people don't like arrogance or fakes. Barack Obama is a fake. Unfortunately he is getting 50% more media coverage than John McCain. When one considers how close the polls are, it makes you wonder how far ahead McCain would be if Obama were treated like McCain is being treated. Let's be honest here, the only reason Obama defeated Hillary is the fact that he ran ... more » Sunday, July 20

THE DEM'S DAN
QUAYLE? Barack Obama isn't the brightest blub on the Great White Way (a reference to Broadway). Perhaps the Las Vegas Strip would be a better analogy. He's not firing on all thrusters. He is magnificent on camera and with the teleprompter. His speeches put him up there with the 'greats'. That's a given and as a supporter of John McCain I am dealing with it. If this were Dan Quayle or any other generic Republican, this would be wall to wall on the media. Because it was uttered by the Obamassiah, well, it's just another day and ... more »

OR A BIG STEP BACKWARD? In many ways the summer of 1969 was the most magical in my life. It changed my life, or rather formed the foundation for all that I am. It had nothing to do with sex, drugs, or rock and roll. It wasn’t about Woodstock, even though my parents and grandparents were actually in said town antiquing the weekend there-of. It was about scientific and engineering feats that captured our imagination. As a nation we held our heads high. My girlish fancies were captured by a ‘fairy tale’ young prince who was finally allowed to meet ... more » Sunday, July 13

A TALE OF TWO MEN
"...I was finding that prayer helped. It wasn't a question of asking for superhuman strength or for God to strike the North Vietnamese dead. It was asking for moral and physical courage, for guidance and wisdom to do the right thing. I asked for comfort when I was in pain, and sometimes I received relief. I was sustained in many times of trial...."John McCain When the election season begins, we all wonder who is going to come out on top. OBAMA OR MCCAIN? If you don't think there is a difference, well, there is. If you are thinking about voting for one of those twitty third parties with spoilers like Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin, maybe you'd better think again. Jim Fryer at Real World Libertarian posted this. I pilfered it from him. OBAMA & NASCAR Praise the Lord! First - God Bless Sister Toldjah! Now, I needed the laugh. It wasn't just a laugh, it was maniacal giggle. God Bless The Democrats. They do it every time. Is it genetic or are their candidates so flawed they just can't help it? Bless Sister Toldjah who has come up with the story that Barack Obama is planning to sponser a NASCAR vehicle? WHERE'S OBAMA? Today we have learned that during the month of June, John McCain has finally hit the mother lode when it comes to fundraising. He had a $22 Million Dollar June! When you add the funds the RNC has on hand, it's not looking all that bad. According to Outside the Beltway the RNC has something like $95 million cash on hand compared to the DNC's $10 million or so. James Joyner then noted the following:"...It’s a very bizarre strategy on Davis’ part to be bragging about McCain’s fundraising and ability to spend money. Wouldn’t they be ... more »

THE OLDEST PROFESSION Today I stopped off at the bank to do the usual after a week out of town. I noticed that the girls working behind the counter were dressed in a manner that reflected more a ‘Friday’ casual look than banking Tuesday. If their attire was ‘serious’ banking, then I am afraid to see what ‘Casual Friday’ might entail. It reminded me of several things. First, are we going to you know what in a hand-basket because of our sloppy dress? Second, is it any indication of a lapse in societal manners, morals, and customs?I was waxing ... more »

SOME CONSERVATIVES JUST DON'T GET IT REPUBLICANSWhen I hear conservatives wax poetic against John McCain, and some conservatives who swear up and down they are anti-abortion and yet plan to vote for Barack Obama (I'm related to at least one) I mention two words: Stevens & Ginsburg. If they aren't bright enough to figure out to whom I am referring, then there isn't much hope and they are true, clueless Barack Obama voters. NOT THE BRIGHTEST BULB We've all joked about Barack Obama being an empty shirt. I never realized how empty and how abjectly un "bright" until this morning. He is stalled on the runway in St. Louis while his campaign is being repaired. What's wrong with this picture? If this is such a powerful man, ready to take over as POTUS why the H-E-double-toothpick hasn't he grabbed a phone, started shouting orders and arranged for a quickie flight out of St. Louis. If Obama has all the money in the world to campaign with why not rent a couple of private ... more »

INVEST IN NASA Buzz Aldrin is right. If we don't invest in NASA, the Chinese are going to beat us to the Moon and to Mars. Space is our future. As usual, we are piddling it away, to pinch pennies. I am terrified if Barack Obama is elected it is going to be more of the same - just dump the space program and put everything in welfare programs. The UK Telegraph "... WHAT IS WRONG WITH FOX? Have you noticed a (not so) subtle change in FOX News lately? If CNN was once the “Clinton News Network” perhaps FOX should now be dubbed the Obama News Network. While I’ve been staying at the Larian (the best place to stay in Tombstone) I’ve been stuck with MSNBC and CNN. I’ve been picking FOX up on my blasted XM (I hate that thing). It is rather remarkable. I am beginning to think that John McCain is getting better coverage and more equal time on CNN. FAIR AND BALANCED – NOT FOX does “Fair ... more »

FRANTIC FUND-RAISING Remember in May, Barack Obama only raised 22 million, his weakest showing to date. June’s numbers are not in yet, but if the frantic fundraising pace is any indicator, June may not be all that good either. Meanwhile, the Dems are crying fowl (intended spelling) over a new loop-hole the GOP has found to raise more money. While there is all this weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth by the Dems and their MSM supporters, maybe they should remember how Obama cheated by going back on his word about federal funds. FRIDAY, JULY 4 ![]() Tombstone is America in microcosm. In order to understand the heart and soul of America you need to understand two things baseball and Tombstone. More than a mining town, dirty and small minded, Tombstone is a symbol. It is America's version of Camelot. Wyatt Earp is our King Arthur. If the characters and storyline of Tombstone had not existed America would have invented it. Wyatt Earp, age 79, 1928 (Additional photos in this article are copyright SJ Reidhead, 2008. NATIONAL SERVICE FOR
ALL I'd
not paid much attention to Barack Obama's July 2 speech on national
service until I listened to Michael
Medved this evening. I highly INSIST that you listen to the
first half hour of his show today. It
is chilling. If you weren't planning on voting for John
McCain before, this will make you do so. Medved mentioned
something that was not in Obama's prepared text: He is
planning a civilian security force to augment the military.

terrifying. This man basically wants to take over ... more »

BARACK'S LITTLE FRIENDS Like I said last night, it's a cheap shot, but it's a fun one. We all need a few cheap thrills these days and I'm no exception. Have you noticed that no one's brought up the following: Barack Obama + Bill Ayers + Hugo Chavez (+/- Chavez's FARC connection)
From Little Green Footballs:
"...Obama hasn’t said a whole lot about Colombia other than to criticize President Bush’s good relations with President Uribe. With this correspondence suggesting that FARC knows what he thinks, maybe the American voters have a right to know what he thinks, too. Five questions ... more »

OKAY, IT’S A CHEAP SHOT It may be a heap shot, but it’s such a good cheap shot I can’t resist it. What do these things have in common: Hugo Chavez Bill Ayers FARC Well, they are Barack Obama’s little Marxist friends, who are getting thrown under the bus in the Obamassiah’s attempt to become more moderate than John McCain. Fact is, it makes the piece that circulated today about John McCain roughing up a Sandinista all the more fascinating. Big Lizards has more on the story. DON'T TREAD ON ME? This Week’s “Subliminal Smear” – McCain’s Experience - via the military. STOP SMEARING BIG MAC Are you as angry as I am? I know politics is politics, but when is enough enough? Today at lunch, I was in tears as I thought about the mistreatment of John McCain, not at the hands of the communists, but at the hands of the Democrats. It wasn’t because I am a supporter of Senator McCain, but because of the past. I was a teenager when those images of the POWs returning home filtered in (black and white) to the ... more »

FASTEN YOUR SEAT-BELTS We could be in for a bumpy ride. Larry Sinclair has provided his phone records - and strangely enough, they point Sinclair, not Barack Obama, telling the truth. From Obama Who? "...“A newly released CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll found that if Obama does not select Clinton as his running mate, 22 percent of her supporters would stay home this fall (almost 4 million voters) — and another 17 percent (a little over 3 million) would vote for McCain.” –CNN (parentheses are mine).
