I think this is a job for the new RNC site Can We Ask! 

My father has made the connection between Barack Obama’s statement that there are 57 ( maybe 58) states and has tracked it back to the John Kerry Campaign of 2004.  He thinks Obama picked it up from Heinz 57!

I want to know when we added 7 new states. 
Where are they? 
What are their names? 
Have they had their primaries yet?
Did Barack Obama win their popular vote?
Did he pick up their Super-Delegates?
Is Barack Obama Dumber Than Dirt?
