SATURDAY, MAY 10
Twenty-three years ago last night I was in Atlanta slobbering over Sherrill Milnes as he did Simon Boccanegra with the Met. They ended their annual tours a few years later, but I sure did hear some great music while they were in town. My mother and I would stay at the Colony Square Hotel, get a suite. My aunt would fly up from Palm Beach and my mother's best friend would also drive in for the week. We would do 6 nights of intensive opera, good stuff, too.
