MAYBE NOT WHAT YOU THINK
The first thing we need is a Hollywood face who is younger than my grandfather to help promote John McCain. We need a rock star. Conservatives need to start treating Hispanics with respect. They are our future, hard-line conservatives are (fortunately) a dying breed. The world is changing. Conservatives need to change. The first thing they need to do is understand, to comprehend that in order to win, John McCain needs to move toward the center. We all know they are incapable of rational thinking and behavior. They are too busy being spoiled and selfish. ... more »

PINK POLKADOT PIGS FLY The thing I dislike most about Barack Obama is the fact that he’s made me defend Hillary Clinton. This is one of the last things in the world I would expect to be doing, right up there with watching pink and lavender polka-dotted pigs flying. There are some women who consider Hillary Clinton’s run for the Rose Garden something akin to a second magical mystical mystery tour. There are those who all her efforts mythological. To that I say Bull! Magic has nothing to do with it. There’s nothing mythological about it. We’re watching a very ... more » Thursday, May 29

IT WILL HAUNT THEM I think one of the saddest things I’ve seen in quite awhile is this book by Scott McClellan. It is tragic. There is no happy ending for this story, none. Scott McClellan, unless he becomes a vast left wing nut, is finished. He has betrayed people who were good and decent to him. He’s burned his Republican bridges, but from what I hear from Michael Medved’s broadcasts, his mother detests GWB and the GOP, has gone third party. His father is a disbarred Texas attorney. I am sick and tired of Republicans Bush-bashing. Once again we ... more »

CONSERVATIVES AGAINST REAGAN
''It is unlikely that the Reagan era will prove to be the historic change in the direction of America that we have sought.'' Edwin J. Feulner Jr., president of the Heritage Foundation,1985. John McCain and George W. Bush should be honored to be in such august company as Ronald Reagan. Why? While Reagan was President, contrary to the lies that are being told today by Richard Viguerie and World Net Daily, Viguerie and fellow conservative leaders Howard Phillips and Paul Weyrich did their very best to undermine and bully him. Now though, they protray themselves as ... more » Tuesday, May 27

NOT SO VERY CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVES This is what it’s all about. “…"All sides of the humanistic spectrum are now, in principle, demonic; communists and conservatives, anarchists and socialists, fascists and republicans," explains Rushdoony. "When someone tries to undermine the commitment to Jehovah which is fundamental to the civil order of a godly state--then that person needs to be restrained by the magistrate...those who will not acknowledge Jehovah as the ultimate authority behind the civil law code which the magistrate is enforcing would be punished and repressed,"….” From the SPLC “…Rushdoony, whose book is revered by Reconstructionists as their foundational document, ... more »

OR IS IT SOMETHING ELSE? Is Bob Barr’s Libertarian Party nomination the Kiss of Death for John McCain’s Presidential efforts or is the impact of his nomination greatly exaggerated? I’m beginning to wonder if it might just be the latter. In 2004, Libertarian candidate Michael Badnarik pulled in less than 400,000 nationally. Granted Badnarik was a poor candidate. That same year, Constitution Party candidate Michael Peroutka did a little less than 150,000 votes. Ralph Nader came in third with about 465,000 votes. In 2000 the combined candidacies of Pat Buchanan (Reform), Harry Browne (Libertarian) and Howard Phillips (Constitution) brought in ... more » Sunday, May 25

OR COWARDLY PROSTITUTES POLITICIANS? Faultline has one of the best pieces I’ve seen on gas prices. I’d probably only link to it in the evening, but it brings up something I was going to write about yesterday but was sidetracked. Mentioned is the fact that travel is lighter than usual this Memorial Day. Where I am in New Mexico I WISH! Traffic is not down. Fact is, things are booming a little in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico when it comes to oil. There is so much money flying around here it is annoying. Yesterday I went in town ... more »

STICKS AND STONES This evening after a long cooking session (nothing caught on fire or exploded, FYI) I sat down to start working on a couple of articles about Sarah Palin. My inbox was being accosted by requests for me to remove blogs from the I Vote the Elephant blogroll, to protest yours truly. First things first, I don't know what is the big deal about any blogroll. I know the requests were intended to insult, which is fine. To each their own. But to me a blog roll is no big deal. The world does not begin or end ... more » Thursday, May 22

THE DEATH OF THE MINUTEMAN MOVEMENT? I will not mourn their passing. Evidently, as all the little nasties start circling the wagon and finances just don’t add up like they should, all is not sweetness and light in Minuteman land. According to Jim Gilchrist, they’ve lost. Let’s face it, when you create an organization that involves a bunch of racists, thugs, and con-artist, not to mention the various personality disorders of its founder, you’re bound to run into a little problem every once in awhile. No, the demise is not eminent, but it is coming. Wednesday, May 21

IS THERE A MOONIE FACTOR? There has been a fascinating development along Libertarian lines these past few weeks. Evidently Richard Viguerie, the “conservative” version of a snake-oil salesman had decided to take over the Libertarian Party to help his pal Bob Barr run for POTUS. Neal Bortz is in on this along with the dynamic duo. We know Viguerie wishes to do harm to John McCain. Just what this tremendous trio is planning is quite obvious. They are going to attempt to prevent John McCain from winning the election. I have a feeling we are going to see an unholy ... more » Monday, May 19

THE INTELLECTUAL DISHONESTY OF THE FAR RIGHT This is yet another in the series I am doing on how non Republican conservatives are destroying the GOP. The past part looked at the sources of the problem. Today we examine how pervasive the problem is. This is another of those pieces where I've been working on for several weeks. The most important lesson we can take to the ballot box this political season is the fact that there is an energized conservative movement that is completely independent of the GOP. They are made up of several factions I will detail below. ... more » Saturday, May 17

SEPARATING CONSERVATIVES & REPUBLICANS I am known as a cynical, conservative "hating" witch with a "B". It is true, I no longer trust anything with a "conservative brand". I am am angry with these people for having infiltrated and destroyed much of my beloved GOP. I am angry with good, decent conservative Republicans for falling for their line of BS. Unfortunately there is a very nasty little bottom line here. Good, decent conservatives have been manipulated, co-opted, and some just downright purchased by one of two or both manipulators and puppetmasters. The first is Sun Myung Moon. When you start ... more » Friday, May 16

MOVEMENT CONSERVATIVES Yesterday evening I finally realized one of the problems bothering me when it comes to today’s non-Republican conservatives. How about a quote from Ann Coulter: “…And I think what happened today demonstrates that the movement conservatives, or the radical right wing as we're being called, is the one with the power in this relationship, the power in the country. That is to say, as I have been arguing since the Roberts nomination, yes, it would be fine if Bush nominated a wonderful, qualified conservative like Janice Rogers Brown. Even if she's defeated, that is a victory for ... more »

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE Quin Hillyer wrote one of the nastiest hit pieces I’ve seen to date against Lindsey. Naturally he is channeling Michelle Malkin who has this pathological hatred of Lindsey. I think it’s because she dislikes anything Hispanic and Lindsey is not exactly a bigot, and sorta implied that she and her precious little friends are. I guess since she is promoting Buddy Witherspoon, we all know who is handling her leash – the John Tanton crowed. She’s also part of what I call the Dump Lindsey Movement. It’s all part of certain non-Republican ... more »

CONSERVATIVE NOT REPUBLICAN For months I've been telling you that there are certain conservatives who are no more Republican than Barack Obama is. Mark Levin just proved me correct. This is the WORST piece of you know what I've ever heard. This needs to end - now. Right now I am absolutely furious. I don't know when I have been so angry. We are dealing with people who are so warped that they do not comprehend they have destroyed the "brand" they once embraced. Maybe Mark Levin needs to go back and read the Contract with America. Not once in ... more »

THE HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME (BUT THEMSELVES) Once again a Republican wannabe has been sent packing, tail between his legs. There are several reasons for this. Unlike this gloom and doom blame everything on GWB post from Race 42008, President Bush IS NOT the problem! We all know all the little cowardly conservatives who dance around the anti-immigration bonfire singing the sky is falling, and deport 'em all are the ones who are to blame. They sound more like Barack Obama who doesn't have the intellectual capacity or the maturity to shoulder the blame himself. They are ... more » Tuesday, May 13

IS HE JUST PLAIN SMART? (or) ARE CONSERVATIVES BETRAYING MCCAIN? John McCain betrayed conservatives yesterday when he caved to the dastardly theology of "Global Warming". Or did he? He addressed the problems of global climate change, which even the most conservative of thinkers acknowledges is occurring. Anyone who follows science news knows something is happening out there. Frankly, I go with the theory that humans aren't important enough in the great scheme of things to completely disrupt the planet unless they blow it up with a bunch of nukes. I don't see a Death Star anywhere, so until the Grand ... more » Monday, May 12

GOOD BP - BAD ICE Two stories are going to be presented for your edification. One will detail the absurd waste of taxpayer dollars disrupting the lives of up to 700 families. The other is an exemplary example of the Border Patrol at its best.ICE REIGN OF TERROR CONTINUES Does anyone know how long this reign of terror conducted by ICE will continue. Not only content to raid the largest Kosher packing plant in the nation, but they are also making absurd claims that Meth is being made on the property. IT'S THE DRUGS NOT THE ILLEGALS The Juarez style "narco-crimes" are now invading Tucson in the "narco" community. This is going to become more and more the norm all along the border as Mexico's narco-war invades the US. It makes a person wonder why the House Democrats want to cut anti-drug aid to Mexico just when the nation needs it the most! Fortunately, we have a GOP Presidential nominee who "Gets it". "...Until now, Republicans and Democrats had tried to make as little noise as possible about the Bush administration's Mérida Initiative, a request for $500 million to help Mexico ... more »

SUNDAY, MAY 11 ![]() I want to set the record straight on a few things. First, I am conservative. I am not “A Conservative”. I am conservative. My conservative values have NEVER changed – except for my views on capital punishment. I was for it, but then when I really began thinking about the pro-life implications, I cannot support it. I do not believe in taking a person’s life – no matter who. My only exception is for treason and then just shoot ‘em where they stand. This is the only thing about my conservative views that has changed. I want ... more »

THE CONSERVATIVE CANARD “…"Forty to fifty percent of the conservative leaders that I talk to at the national and state level either want the Republican to lose in November, or are ambivalent about it." Since the beginning of the movement, "We took the long range view. We didn't put all our eggs in any one election. We said that this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon." Viguerie said that he's telling his conservative friends not "to fear defeat." After all, GOP loses in 1964, 1974, 1976 and 1992 "cleaned out a lot of dead wood" from the Republican Party. ... more »

HOUSE REPUBLICANS ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT! Novak has a Townhall piece today that is basically humiliating in nature for the GOP. Nancy Pelosi has run rough-shod over them for nearly 2 years and they’ve basically surrendered. Flap is covering Newt Gingrich’s cry in the darkness. “…Nine Acts of Real Change That Could Restore the GOP Brand
Here are nine acts of real change that would begin to rebuild the American people's confidence that Republicans share their values, understand their worries, and are prepared to act instead of just talk. The Republicans in Congress could get a start on all nine ... more » Thursday, May 8

THE HISPANIC REPUBLICAN VOTE Rubin Navarrette has a PJ Media piece about the Mexican flag. There is a double standard. Anything Mexican is bad – evil, evidently. “…The point is, a lot of Americans look at anyone who waves a Mexican flag as secretly planning to take over the Southwest and hand it to Mexico. But they don’t suggest that anyone waving the Israeli flag - or the Irish flag, or the Italian flag or whatever - has something similar up his sleeve. In those cases, most people are likely to think that the display is harmless and that all ... more »
