Why Is There No REAL GOP Leadership in the House?
by
SJ Reidhead
on May 10, 2008 10:36PM (MDT)
HOUSE REPUBLICANS ARE AN EMBARRASSMENT!
Novak has a Townhall piece today that is basically humiliating in nature for the GOP. Nancy Pelosi has run rough-shod over them for nearly 2 years and they’ve basically surrendered. Flap is covering Newt Gingrich’s cry in the darkness.
“…Nine Acts of Real Change That Could Restore the GOP Brand
Here are nine acts of real change that would begin to rebuild the American people's confidence that Republicans share their values, understand their worries, and are prepared to act instead of just talk. The Republicans in Congress could get a start on all nine ... more »

Another Pink Flamingo I Told You So – It’s the Narco-War – Not Immigration

ARE CHAVEZ, FARC INVOLVED IN MEXICO
If you think illegal immigration is bad now, just wait. If what I think is happening, we are in for a massive tide of illegal immigration – refugees fleeing the growing narco-war in Mexico. This is a war, perhaps involving Hugo Chavez, the FARC, and his plans to undermine Mexico and bring terror to the border.
Our precious little conservatives, who are pandering to hard-line racists who have nothing to do with the GOP are diverting money that needs to go into the fight against narco-terror. That is what it is. Wait, ... more »

THIS WEEK’S IMMIGRATION NEWS
They are now called Juan Crow Laws.
I have a real problem here. I am noticing a growing trend within conservative (extreme, not Republican) blog ranks to classify La Raza as racist. Along with that, there seems to be this under tone that maybe Hispanics are less than acceptable. Or, if they are, we’re talking “OUR” Hispanics and the other (UPPITY) Hispanics. Let’s face some very nasty facts here. The same individuals who fought against the Civil Rights reforms and integration in the Sixties are the very ones helping to promote hard-line immigration reform. Does ... more »

Proving Hard Core Conservatives Wrong on Hispanics

THE HISPANIC REPUBLICAN VOTE
Rubin Navarrette has a PJ Media piece about the Mexican flag. There is a double standard. Anything Mexican is bad – evil, evidently.
“…The point is, a lot of Americans look at anyone who waves a Mexican flag as secretly planning to take over the Southwest and hand it to Mexico. But they don’t suggest that anyone waving the Israeli flag - or the Irish flag, or the Italian flag or whatever - has something similar up his sleeve. In those cases, most people are likely to think that the display is harmless and that all ... more »

Is Your Anti-Hispanic Racism Showing?
by
SJ Reidhead
on May 6, 2008 10:28PM (MDT)
THIS IS BIASED - THIS IS RACISM
I want to tell you about a story I heard today. I am not telling who told it to me. The man is Hispanic. His family has been in New Mexico since the Conquistadors. THEY ARE REPUBLICAN. They have served in the military. They vote. They go to church, have jobs, and contribute to society. Unfortunately, my friend’s sister cannot find her birth certificate. She has lost her baptismal certificate. The state of New Mexico declares she was never born. She has a Social Security # and is receiving it. She has her ... more »

Michelle Malkin’s Secret Fear (John McCain & Hispanics)

MICHELLE HATES MCCAIN (or is it anything Hispanic)
Does this offend you? If it does, I suggest you join your little friends at Stormfront, or go flush some of your hard earned money down the coffers of any one of the minutemen groups. I also suggest you sit back, and breathe. There....in, out. Now sneeze. (wait, that's me). Think back on all the tales you remember - of Ronald Reagan's campaign. Think about all the GOP POTUS campaigns since then - and you might discover (if yo are willing to look) that EVERY Republican nominee for President of the ... more »

Conservatives & Ron Paul Bot Cost GOP House Seat In LA Last Night
by
SJ Reidhead
on May 4, 2008 08:02PM (MDT)
WAS JENKINS IMMIGRATION POSITION A LOSER?
Once again sore-headed LOOSER conservatives have triumphed. Last night, in Louisiana, Republican turned Independent, Ashley Casey, cost the Republicans yet another house seat. If her votes had gone to GOP candidate, Woody Jenkins, Jenkins would have had 50,459 votes to Democrat default winner, "Don" Cazayoux, who had an unofficial 49,702. I don't know if the 757 vote difference would have been enough to avoid a run-off, but it is enough to determine these outcast conservatives can do serious damage to the GOP.
There's more: Randall T. Hayes, who received 402 votes is ... more »

Stealth Conservatives, Not Republican, Against the GOP
by
SJ Reidhead
on May 3, 2008 10:21PM (MDT)
THEY BETRAY THEIR “CONSERVATIVE” IDEALS
I think there is this false perception that I do not like conservatives, and have something against them. In a way that is true. I am conservative. The only change I’ve been through in about 20 years of political evolution is the fact that I am now against the death penalty simply because I am so staunchly pro-life. It is rather ludicrous to be against abortion, but yet want to put criminals to death. It just doesn’t work. Other than that, I am as conservative (maybe a little more) as I was when Reagan was ... more »

THE 'TRUE' CONSERVATIVE AGENDA
From Border Fire Report (for what it’s worth)
I keep telling you there are many conservatives who are not Republican. These are the individuals who have been doing all the agitating – and we’re not talking Ron Paul Bots. There is a division in the conservative ranks between libertarians, Constitution, and the new conservative party. The problem is these are the yahoos who basically cost the GOP the majority in the House and Senate in 2006. If we aren't careful and marginalize them, this will happen, once again, and could cost John McCain the election. They ... more »

by

JUDICIAL WATCH GOES AFTER BIG MAC
I’m not a fan of Judicial Watch. I think it is a crock. As if to prove my point, that my theory that certain conservatives are going to do all they can to ruin the man, Judicial Watch pops up and files a FEC Complaint against John McCain.
“…“Recent news reports suggest that Sen. John McCain and John McCain for President may have accepted an in-kind contribution from foreign nationals Lord Rothschild OM GBE and the Hon. Nathaniel Rothschild of Great Britain in contravention of federal election laws,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton wrote ... more »

MALKIN’S HATRED OF JOHN MCCAIN
When Aristotle defined hubris, he may have been thinking of Michelle Malkin.
"...Aristotle defined hubris as follows: to cause shame to the victim, not in order that anything may happen to you, nor because anything has happened to you, but merely for your own gratification. Hubris is not the requital of past injuries; this is revenge. As for the pleasure in hubris, its cause is this: men think that by ill-treating others they make their own superiority the greater...."

Chertoff Lied About BLM Report on Border Fence
by
SJ Reidhead
on April 27, 2008 09:30PM (MDT)
FENCE WOULD CAUSE MAJOR DAMAGE
Demands are finally being made to force Michael Chertoff to either resign or be removed from his position as the Secretary of Homeland Security. It is possible the man has a track record of not telling the truth. Last September BLM officials informed Michael Chertoff that the proposed border fence would cause irreparable damage to the fragile San Pedro aquifer and the Riparian sanctuary. Evidently Chertoff LIED about the information the BLM gave to him and just went on as planned, ignoring the Constitution of the US.

SATURDAY, APRIL 26 You will find my four part Cochise County immigration piece below. Have fun reading it. I have a feeling it could be part of a new book. I did some copy/paste from a couple of my books: TRAVESTY and A CHURCH FOR HELLDORADO. COCHISE COUNTY, IMMIGRATION & CRIME
Last weekend some serious charges were leveled at The Pink Flamingo, questioning methods and sources. Several days ago Harold Hutchinson at Called As Seen detailed some of the problems. I was accused by someone who alleges to be from “the border” of not knowing what I’m talking about – of lying.
Years ago, when my sister and I were in high school, a women from our church and her husband confronted my mother, making some off the wall accusations about my sister and I. Our mother never said anything, but went the high school ... more »

YOU'LL FIND YOUR TOMBSTONE
Everyone and their pack mule knew the vast desert along the Mexican border in what was then Pima County, A. T. (Arizona Territory) was literally ‘dripping’ with rich mineral deposits. The problem was the Apache. They were angry. They were fierce, and they were often fatal. Several ill-fated expeditions to Goose Flats, where everyone knew there was bonanza in silver, always ended in disaster. In 1879 Ed Schieffelin, a prospector who was working as an army scout out of Fort Huachuca (the same one) announced he was going to head over to the Goose Flats area ... more »

BACK TO COCHISE COUNTY
Everyone wanted a piece of the action. They wanted their ‘fair share’. They wanted the money. Because the Apache were “under control” it was easier for Mexican merchants to cross the border along specific trade routes that had been established a thousand years pervious (and are still in use today). Tombstone had the money. They could afford things. They paid big money for things, at highly inflated rates. The Mexican traders would make their way back into Sonora, rich, their pockets full of Tombstone gold.
Remember, we’re talking the 1881 equivalent of a TRILLION DOLLARS being ... more »

THE ROAD TO GUADELOUPE CANYON
FROM: A CHURCH FOR HELLDORADO P. 13, 14 49The Gunfight at the OK Corral occurred on October 26, 1881. To make a very long “and involved story as short as possible is to gloss over a hundred salient facts. The bottom line is Wyatt Earp and his brothers had been threatened by misc. Cowboys at misc. times during the previous year. Things came to a head the night of the 25th, when Ike and Frank McLaury rode into town and began drinking. Ike became drunk. He threatened the Earps. A Anti-Catholic Minuteman Expose’ (on Video)

THESE ARE THE MINUTEMEN
NOTE: I was planning to a piece on the FLDS (I have some new information) but was side-tracked by this story. I think this is something that needs to be told. I know I am telling it one-sided, against the Minutemen in California. But what I have found is so repulsive and so vile it needs to be exposed to the light of day. It is obvious someone is going to cross the line one of these days and shots are going to be fired. I have a feeling it will be a Minuteman or one ... more »

Why Are Republicans Having Such Problems Raising Funds
by
SJ Reidhead
on April 22, 2008 10:48PM (MDT)
COULD IT BE – IMMIGRATION?
Earlier today I spoke to our local Women’s Republican group, delivering what amounted to a partial doom and gloom prediction. While the talk was primarily about the various blogs for John McCain, I said the following:
The implications for the GOP could be disastrous if we do not change our ways and modernize our way of thinking. This is precisely what a group of us are attempting to do. If we cannot get the rank and file every day members of the Republican Party to perhaps re-think the wheel a little, I am afraid we ... more »

SHERIFF JOE TOSSES BILL OF RIGHTS!
“…So much for my speech. The struggle, I fear, is just getting started. Both our Mayor and Police Chief have challenged the Sheriff. Religious leaders, myself included, will soon be publishing an open letter in the paper, legal challenges will be mounted. No matter what your views on immigration or your ideas on how to solve this immensely complex problem, the Sheriff's heavy-handed intimidation is not the way. I hope that you will join with me and others in the religious community who are doing their best to balance the laws of our country ... more »

The Great Immigration Debate
by
SJ Reidhead
on April 19, 2008 05:24PM (MDT)
A DEBATE
StrataSphere pointed me to it the debate. Right Voices is hosting a forum on immigration. The following is my comment, plus a bit more. If we don't get a handle on the movement of drugs across the border, nothing is going to matter. The problem is - no one wants to believe it.
The thing that frustrates me is the fact that the hard-line anti-immigration supporters are obscuring the real issue: the trafficking of illegal narcotics. The only time the subject is even mentioned is when an “illegal” either on drugs or trafficking drugs commits a crime that ... more »

Is Big Mac Peaking Too Early?

THE VOICE OF DOOM
I feel like the voice of doom or Cassandra predicting the fall of Troy. John McCain’s numbers are too good, too early. Maybe we’re going to be find and are heading toward a historic landslide. This is my prayer. But after 8 years of Clinton, I am terrified. Things are too good. We now hear that Big Mac is winning back annoyed Republicans.

ANTI-CATHOLIC SENTIMENT SURFACES
I think by now any thinking person knows the Puppetmaster, John Tanton, is very anti-Catholic. Somehow I don’t think he is very happy with the visit of the Holy Father. So, he has sent his little minions of darkness out to try and ratchet up anti-immigration sentiment based on anti-Catholic bias. The man uses bias and ‘hate’ as his tools of the trade. His minions adopt his values and his tone. The result – well, you be the judge. I think we now know Tom Tancredo and Michelle Malkin are two of his little flunkies. I think ... more »

From the Opinionated Times comes a piece about the cops in Juarez.
My friend Maggie has a brother who lives in Juarez, married to a woman whose family has lived there for many years. They had a very good life up until the past few years. The problem with all the anti-immigration hype is the fact that Mexico has many social classes have been completely obscured. Once upon a time, life in Juarez was good.
