Today the WTimes featured a piece by Stephen Dinan about how the blog world bailed out the McCain campaign. I wasn’t there during those do or die days where everyone but a few people, including Brad Marston, were burying John McCain. I do know there was not a great a blog presence for McCain as the Times would have the world believe.
Captain Ed picked the story up at Hot Air. I find the revisionist history rather fascinating. Like Beth I only remember Blogs against McCain and a tremendous amount of hate spewed against him, much ... more»
I admit it. I am furious. I am so sick and tired of these people and the things they do about immigration reform I could say something really tacky. I’m not. I am furious at the way they take the word of a racist little twerp like Heath Schuler over John McCain over that deplorable SAVE Act. Somewhere it needs to stop. Right Pundits is resurrecting that debunked claim of DEMOCRAT Heath Shuler that John McCain blocked an yet another suicidal immigration bill.
How long are good decent people going to allow nativist extremists to control the ... more»
John McCain was shot down over Vietnam on October 26, 1967 and taken prisoner. Anyone who has a mediocre working knowledge of the Wild West knows that the Gunfight at the OK Corral occurred on October 26, 1881. In the movie Tombstone, the roll of Curly Bill Brocius was played by Powers Boothe. Now Boothe is narrating the new John McCain ad.
Look, just color me cynical. I’m worried. Things are WAY too good for John McCain right now. If this were October, I would be a very happy person. Unfortunately this is March. What goes up must come down, unless…. Something like this occurs: Condi may be interested in the VP spot.
The Phoenix from Phoenix? Unfortunately it is too early and there are too many anti-McCain conservatives and way too many NON REPUBLICAN anti-immigration nativists who will do just about anything to throw a monkey wrench into the machinery.
I thought I would throw a little bit of Spanish in for all my anti-immigration readers. Brad Warthen interviewed Lindsey the other day. The Palmetto Scoop has the video. What fascinates me is the fact that Lindsey pinpoints the problem within the GOP, basically making it a victim of its own success. South Carolina is almost a one party state now – all GOP. The problem with that is the fact that we now deal with good Republicans v. bad Republicans. Lindsey discusses this in some detail.
Today I won my 3rd vote for John McCain. I may have won more for him, but I can only account for those three, four if you count my mother. All three votes were hard fought and won, not through blogging, in fact none of the voters has even read The Pink Flamingo. Maybe I don’t count the third one, it was the son of a friend I converted. Maybe that his my friend’s vote. I’m not sure, but I can account for three votes for John McCain.
Please, be tolerant, the sun has set and I can now use %$@*! as much as I want! Thank heavens. I thought I wouldn’t make it yesterday afternoon! I've wanted to wax profanity many times these past few weeks but I've not. I'm just throwing out a barrel o' Obama links. My honest assessment of this whole situation is it's not going to make a heck of a lot of difference what happens, his followers are going to stick with him.
BARACK & HIS PASSPORT I knew it. Last night when my father called, ... more»
Barack Obama began his quest pledging to bring everyone together and for change. Well, he’s done more to split this country apart racially, so I guess he has already brought change. How does a person do what he has done? Is it on purpose or simply abject incompetence. Either answer renders him completely ineligible to be POTUS. Lets be honest here, if Barack Obama were a Republican, he would be sulking after having been forced to resign from the Senate, let alone end his POTUS run.
The abject bigotry of Jeremiah Wright, and Obama’s convoluted ... more»
Today when I did my movie Thursday Thirteen I put in what I think is the most perfect clip in all of movie history. Judah Ben Hur (Charlton Heston at his most – sigh) has just been consigned to the galleys as a slave. It is Mesilla’s intention for his old friend to die of thirst along the trek. The problem is Mesilla’s best laid plans were ruined by a humble carpenter who was all about love.
There is something in that scene that is sacred, profound, and quite simple. It shows the love of my ... more»
We are living in a day when the concepts of Truth, Justice, The American Way and all of that good stuff is just not popular. It isn’t politically correct. Neither is the concept of honor, decency, and patriotism. It is rather sad when men like George W. Bush and John McCain are treated with contempt and derision by the rank and file within the nation. The other night I ranted and raved about the young “slut” who sold her body and is well on the way to making millions from it. I don’t begrudge her a cent of ... more»
I’ve been telling you there is a certain group of conservatives who are making a heck of a lot of noise about not supporting John McCain. They are also making a heck of a lot of trouble for the GOP. I’ve also been telling you for two years that these folks have nothing to do with the GOP and are part of the Constitution Party. This is very serious. I think this is the reason we lost the House and the Senate in 2006. If John McCain were to lose in November, I would lay the ... more»
The following is information that is interesting, but doesn't warrant a whole post. I'm just throwing it out for a what it's worth. There is an interesting Sarah Palin development. A very liberal site is interested in George P. Bush as VP. The best part is how badly Tom Tancredo has miscalculated and why he isn't running again. Yep - hard-line anti-immigration is a loser, even for Tancredo!
INTERESTING PALIN DEVELOPMENT Draft Sarah Palin has some fascinating news. Evidently the McCain camp has registered a number of domain configurations of Sarah Palin’s name.
Fortunately the Sun has set on the 4th Sunday in Lent so I can no longer use profanity. I wish, though I could. I think this WPost op-ed from Brent Bozell is THE LAST STRAW. That’s it. I give up. Let’s not even have an election. Let’s just give it to the Dems and roll over to play dead. That’s what Bozell is proposing. I just want to know, who the H-E-Double Toothpick died and made him God?
I don’t understand what is wrong with these people. They are beyond belief. Don’t today’s precious conservatives ... more»
Malkin is one of the conservatives who is slamming John McCain over his alleged “Temper” incident today. Captain Ed agrees with me.
A QUICK RANT I have a feeling the press is going to do everything possible to provoke an incident with Senator McCain. This whole incident is a non incident. The man did not lose his temper. He did a heck of a lot better than I would have. Then, if you watch a clip of the incident, did you see the vultures swoop in for a piece of the action? By the time this ... more»
This evening John McCain and Mike Huckabee showed us why the GOP is the party of patriotism, heroics, decency, honor, and just plain class. Both men made me so proud of my country and so proud to be a Republican, I had tears in my eyes and I drove along Hwy 80 from Benson to Tombstone.
I thought about the irony of the location – the road from Benson to Tombstone, and the man of the hour. I also though about he and Wyatt Earp. Both men are forever linked with Arizona. Wyatt was ... more»
There is a bottom line here. From what I am starting to discover two things are happening out there. First, your real, honorable, honest Republicans are either un inspired but voting for McCain or absolutely furious with conservatives and talk radio and are ready to fight. The other thing – conservatives and fence sitters could care less and may not be voting. The primary reason is because of conservative talk radio and the trashing of John McCain. If these people do not either shut up or start behaving themselves we are going to end ... more»
