Conservatives, “Babykiller” & the Big Mac Attack
by

SAME OLD SAME OLD?
This is a very convoluted post. I’m going for the tabloid headline because I am annoyed to the point nearing fury. There are several things going on here and I think they are all connected. It is rather like follow the bouncing ball. My ‘gut’ reaction is this is all offered up now, all the you know what (It’s Lent and I gave up profanity) to help make Obama look good. The thing that caught my eye was something posted on Race 42008 last night. It is rather detailed, but once again, I think it is ... more »

CHRIST’S TEACHING IN ACTION
Matthew 25
35for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.” 37Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? 38And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked ... more »

I Told You So - Sucide Bomber Conservatives Strike Again
by

A NEW THIRD PARTY
Before we get to this new American Conservative Party, how about a little Ollie North Smackdown of them? Leave it to Ollie North. His endorsement for John McCain makes our Suicide Bomber Conservatives look like the petty little despots they are.
THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE PARTY Pam Meister’s PJ Media article today thinks conservatives could doom the GOP in the fall. At least she is hoping it will. She's another suicide bomber conservative.
“…Votes do count indeed, a timely lesson not only for Republicans, but for Democrats, Independents, and politicians. Shawn Goodwin of Philadelphia, PA, takes ... more »

The Conservative Damnation of John McCain Continues
by

JUST LUMP HIM IN WITH SOROS?
I saw a posting on The Hill Chronicles that truly annoyed me today. It is the perfect example of how World Net Daily, Jerome Corsi, and the Tanton hate machine have sucked in good, decent people with their lies. John McCain’s Reform Institute is damned by taking a donation from the Tides Foundation because they took a $4 million donation from Teresa Heinz Kerry. The organization is also damned because Corsi says that Arianna Huffington has been on it’s advisory board.
“…Arianna Huffington, syndicated columnist and creator of the HuffingtonPost.com, has served on the ... more »

Who Will Be the Third Party Pooper in Chief?
by
SJ Reidhead

THIRD PARTY IDIOCY
Last week I brought you the story of the Simcox, Viguerie, and Alan Keyes plan to scam a third party run to the point where they could line their pockets, once again. Evidently I wasn't far off the mark. It appears as though the usual suspects are already starting to flock around the Constitution Party and Chuck Baldwin's considerable pockets. The Constitution Party is run by Howard Phillips who claims "Christian" and conservative purity and a loyalty to Reagan, but when Reagan was in office, Phillips was one of the first to betray him.

Here He Comes, Walkin' Down the Street Hey Hey It's Obama!

AND HE DON'T MONKEY AROUND!
I have a collection of pieces about Barack Obama today. I think I have two points about him. First, he is nothing more than your average crooked, corrupt, Chicago ward-healer politician with a good publicist. The man is corrupt. He is smoke and mirrors. If investigations into his fund-raising ever get started, the man is highly vulnerable.
Next, breath a little easier. Barack Obama is not a cult. He’s a rock star. It is a generational thing – but it has nothing to do with politics.
What people don’t realize is that the “Greatest Generation” ... more »

WE MUST ALL FORGIVE
This is a funny time of year for me. From about now until the middle of March is when the ‘bad stuff’ happens in my family. During the past three years I’ve lost my beloved Clancy (miniature poodle) Siggy, Brunhilda, GeorgieW, and years ago, my grandparents. Also three years ago starting around the first of March my mother started having severe heart problems that lead to her heart stopping twice. For the next 8 weeks or so I think my family walks on egg-shells.
I think I mention this because we’ve come full cycle in ... more »

THE WISDOM OF STAR TREK
We have been far to serious lately. Tonight we are going to have some fun. A great philosopher once said “Everything I need to know if life I learned from Star Trek.” While I do dislike casting John McCain in the role of T’Pring, most infamous scheming hussy in the entire Star Trek universe (which is considerable). Unfortunately, it is a perfect analogy. The wit and wisdom of The Great Bird of the Galaxy is undisputed. He had a very real connection with the foibles of humanity. His vision of the future and commentary on ... more »

THE BIRTH OF A CULT
From the Chris Wallace interview with GWB
“…WALLACE: Do you think there's a rush to judgment about Barack Obama. Do you think voters know enough about him? BUSH: I certainly don't know what he believes in. The only foreign policy thing I remember he said was he's going to attack Pakistan and embrace Ahmadinejad. I think I commented that in a press conference when I was asked about that. WALLACE: I hope not. But so you don't think that we know enough about him or what he stands... BUSH: It doesn't seem like it to ... more »

TANTON'S EMPIRE STRIKES BACK?
Earlier today I emailed a friend and told her we were going to see the anti-immigration “conservatives” pull something nasty. Well, Mark Kirkorian has fired the first shot.
“…'A Third-Party Candidate for President May Be Essential for Limiting the Damage to Republicans in Congress.' Over in the Corner, Mark Kirkorian is talking about a third party candidate in a warm, fuzzy tone. He's thinking of a ticket that would attempt fusion between the Libertarian and Constitution parties…”
It's the anti-immigration supporters who are going to be the backbone of this "new" third party. Watch to see ... more »

Lent Is A Time to Forgive
by
SJ Reidhead
on February 6, 2008 10:15PM (MST)
FORGIVING BIG MAC
I think it is time to call a truce. I am tired of the fighting. It is counter-productive. It is hurting us, and it is empowering “the enemy”. And – when I say “the enemy” I am talking about the Democrats. It is Lent, a time for reflection, penance, forgiveness, and personal growth. I don’t quite understand how vilifying a decent human being so that Rush Limbaugh can cover up for his abject hatred of the man is going to do anyone any good. This said, I am terribly impressed with Hugh Hewitt and am sorry I ... more »

MIKE DUNCAN INTERVIEW
I think the most interesting information that Mike Duncan, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, shared with me is his fascination with elections and history. Because of his love of history he has a different perspective on this whole doom and gloom pall that seems to be covering the GOP blogsphere right about now. Last night the turnout ratio between the Dems and the GOP was something like 2:1. It is enough to make a good Republican want to hit the dirty martinis early, and it’s Ash Wednesday no less. (I have no idea what I’m giving ... more »

Conservatives Sure Don’t Know Much About History

WHAT WOULD WASHINGTON DO?
“However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”
Among his other attributes, George Washington was a man of vision. He was terribly concerned about the way political parties would eventually degrade into the playground of what he called cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled ... more »

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM
Today while I was in Starbucks, this college kid who goes to our church, sings in the choir, came in, for some juice. Full disclosure is needed here – he works at a rival coffee shop a few blocks farther down the street. He was very excited over the fact that one of his instructors held a straw poll today – and Barack Obama won every class. I expressed my dismay. He is enamored of Obama, BTW.
“What Obama’s ethics problems?”
“He has none. Look at the man there now.”

That Nasty Little Ad and It's Swiftboat, Morris, Novak, Bossie, & Romney Connections

A 20 MILLION DOLLAR BUY?
I’ve heard that the buy for this disgusting thing brought to you by Citizens United is the object of a $20 million ad buy. Yes it is legal. Is it moral? According to Raw Story, CUPVF (Citizens United Political Victory Fund) began its anti-McCain push last March. What is the Bob Novak connection? David Bossie is the President of Citizens United. Bob Novak wrote the forward of his book. Bossie is tight with Barbara Comstock, who is a senior Romney advisor. Bossie is infamous for his dirty tricks. Citizens United is promoting ... more »

How Conservatives Have Lost (it) and How Did Hurley Get Off the Island?
by
SJ Reidhead

LOST IN SPACE
I’ve spent the entire day working on a magnum opus about today’s far right conservatives and how they are rapidly losing their minds. I have nearly 16 pages of commentary, links, and rather damning quotes, but then I realized, what’s the use. I think perspective is rather important right now. Today Sean Hannity endorsed Mitt Romney. Today John McCain was endorsed by the governors of California and Texas. (I did not say Terminator, but I thought about it). He was also endorsed by Ted Olsen.
Have you noticed how the conservative MSM talk show, blogging super-stars ... more »
