Why I Am Annoyed with Conservatives

I want to set the record straight on a few things. First, I am conservative. I am not “A Conservative”. I am conservative. My conservative values have NEVER changed – except for my views on capital punishment. I was for it, but then when I really began thinking about the pro-life implications, I cannot support it. I do not believe in taking a person’s life – no matter who. My only exception is for treason and then just shoot ‘em where they stand. Sometimes Miss Beverly Sills is just plain cute. The worst of it is the little stinker knows she is cute. Then, there are times (most of the time) she is so darn naughty, it is still cute! Today has been one of those days. I pulled her out of the big jade plant 3 times. The third time she decided to try and bit me. That did not work. She’s been running around the condo like a critter on jet fuel. Okay it’s cute.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the good people at the Cat Blogsphere are helping a fellow cat-blogger who was the victim of a tragic fire. They’ve also done something nice, but I don’t now if I can mention it. Let’s just say ML proves my theory about Episcopalians being good people!

Once again the voices of doom are declaring the GOP dead and buried. According to the most recent WSJ poll, evidently the GOP isn’t well favored by voters this year – or are they? The eternals are here. This is a poll for Registered Voters and not Likely Voters.

We’ve had worse days, but this one is in the top five since I’ve lived here. This morning I was going to put it as the 3rd worst windy day, but I think I will put it at #5. Funny how the Lord works. Last year I realized that St. George was my patron saint through an interesting occurrence. I’ve always thought he was. My protector is the Blessed Virgin of Guadeloupe – FYI. Today Forward Day by Day highlights the verses I live by. We’ve had another obscenely windy day. I finally had to go out for diner, and for HE. Fr. Penn did the service. I had Altar Guild afterward. Wednesday night is easy. We “do dishes” then leave. There’s none of that setting up for another service, which is good.
My father is now vindicated. Men are more forgetful than women.
There is nothing more obnoxious than the recently converted, including moi and Mac!

A REQUEST FOR PRAYER
Several years ago I met a family here in town. It was Christmas and they did not have enough money for presents for their three kids. The Episcopal Church in Lincoln County being what it is, that was all we needed. I think that was the most fun most memorable Christmas ever! That Christmas Eve, Chris had her family there in church. The daughter joined my girl's Bible study. They became regular fixtures. Chris, a confirmed Catholic, was then 'received' into the church by the bishop.

It was something like 26 this morning. I over-slept and was 15 minutes late for church. Or, I was right on time, for me. Fr. Peter had a wonderful sermon on just how much God loves us, and pays attention us. We are all important in His sight. It was just what I needed today.
