Until his association with Barack Obama, Bill Richardson had a reputation for being self-deprecating and rather charming. New Mexico is a mess, politically. It is corrupt. It is dysfunctional. If there was a rational discussion about racism in this country, what Hispanics are experiencing and what my sister’s neighbor Steve Cohen (extremely liberal) is going through I think the rabble roused by Barack Obama would be a half way decent thing. The problem, though, is he is re-defining racism into something that it is not. No longer is racism a terrible, disgusting thing, but the new definition is any criticism of Barack Obama.
