BUBBLES' BUSY DAY
Miss Beverly Sills, aka "Bubbles" is having fun with the new palm plant.  I bought it on Friday.  It is waiting for Maggie to re-pot because I'm allergic to potting soil.  Bubbles has other plans for it!

SATURDAY, MAY 3

Sometimes Miss Beverly Sills is just plain cute.  The worst of it is the little stinker knows she is cute.  Then, there are times (most of the time) she is so darn naughty, it is still cute!  Today has been one of those days.  I pulled her out of the big jade plant 3 times.  The third time she decided to try and bit me.  That did not work.  She’s been running around the condo like a critter on jet fuel.  Okay it’s cute.

FRIDAY, MAY 2

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the good people at the Cat Blogsphere are helping a fellow cat-blogger who was the victim of a tragic fire.  They’ve also done something nice, but I don’t now if I can mention it.  Let’s just say ML proves my theory about Episcopalians being good people!

This Episcopalian spent the afternoon trying to shake down local business owners – for gift certificates for the annual church raffle.  It’s for a good cause, so what the heck.  Fortunately everyone knows the money goes back into the community to various charities so ...   more »

AUCTION FOR CAT-BLOGGER!

A few weeks ago cat blogger Laura lost everything but her three wonderful kitties in a fire.  Because of some absolutely asinine catch-22 she is living day by day.  The great people who run the Cat Blogsphere have set up an auction for she and the kitties.  They are living with Laura's parents, but need to get out on their own.

I really like the cat people.  They are so very kind and understanding.  I don't know if I have permission to tell about one of the good deeds going on now, but let's just say ...   more »

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30

We’ve had worse days, but this one is in the top five since I’ve lived here.  This morning I was going to put it as the 3rd worst windy day, but I think I will put it at #5.  We are expecting a monster day tomorrow. Fed Ex came by this morning.  I thought the poor woman was going to end up with her arm caught in the door it was blowing so bad.  It was miserable.  Rumsfeld had a rough day.  He went downstairs to the bedroom with me this evening.  Doc trapped him in the ...   more »

SATURDAY, APRIL 19

There’s not much going on.  Last night I made the mistake and opened the balcony door late in the evening. (It was a bit warm).  A bug flew in and ended up down in my bathroom.  Someone (and we all know which little pink nose kitty) knocked my alcohol scent infuser over – spilling about a cup of flammable liquid into the bathroom carpet.  Good thing it was citrus flavored. The scent was so cloying I couldn’t sleep. Finally realized if I put the towels I used to soak as much up out of the carpet as ...   more »

THURSDAY, APRIL 17

I only have one post today.

We spent yet another afternoon in the ER with my mother.  Her heart rate was good, but her BP was high – for her.  Evidently she had some sort of an attack this AM.  She heads back to Las Cruces to the cardo. on Monday.  Guess that means I cancel my pedicure.

While she was in the ER her sister called.  Mae Raines (aunt of one day HOFer Tim Raines) had a catastrophic stroke this morning.  May went to work for my grandmother when I was 10 days old, and ...   more »

MONDAY, APRIL 14

A few minutes ago I called my father and told him I would give him ten bucks if he would take Rumsfeld off my hands this evening.  The little monster somehow managed to climb up the table where I was stashing the garbage (to dump tomorrow) and pulled it down.  Yep, he shredded the bag and scattered things everywhere.   He and Bubbles were so naughty last night I did not get to sleep until about 6:15 this morning!

SUNDAY, APRIL 13

It was something like 26 this morning.  I over-slept and was 15 minutes late for church.  Or, I was right on time, for me.  Fr. Peter had a wonderful sermon on just how much God loves us, and pays attention us.  We are all important in His sight.  It was just what I needed today.  I’m in charge of the church raffle this year during  our Christmas in July.  The last time I was in charge of it I raised nearly $2000, which is something of a record.  Since Josie (one of my best friends) is in ...   more »

FRIDAY, APRIL 11

I am only doing two posts today.  I’ve spent much of the evening piddling around and making some changes.  I think I solved the slow loading problems.  All I did was move my TLB badge to the right column, re:  Beth Cleaver’s smart advice a few months ago.  Then I moved the site meter badges.  I discovered my site meter was causing all the problems!  I hate that thing.  I’ve added a registration form, and made the RSS forms easier to find.  If you have been reading TPF this evening, you may have noticed a few color ...   more »

THURSDAY, APRIL 10

I can’t think of a darn thing to say this evening.  I’m working on some good stuff for the weekend.  Aside from the usual Barack Obama stuff, not much is going on.  The wind is still making me crazy.  We had a few sprinkles of rain this AM.  Further up in Ruidoso IT SNOWED!  Not much else to report.  Oh, be sure to take the test to see what sort of a Republican you are.  Much to my delight, I am an ENTERPRISER!  I think you know where we are going there.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9

I’ve calculated the wind today is the 4th worst I’ve seen in 10 years of living here.  The worst of it, is we get dust and dirt, but someone east of us will end up with tornados.  The whole area looked overcast and foggy due to the white sand in the air.  I swear the animals are crazy over it.

Maybe they are still “drunk”.  I allowed them to do some recreational drugs last night late.  Doc is still full of C-nip (all over her hair).  She is in a vile mood, which is usual when she ...   more »

TUESDAY, APRIL 8

This morning I found a bag of kitty Christmas presents in the back of the Durango.  We just opened them.  Naturally we are having some fun.  Miss Beverly Sills, AKA “Bubbles” is running around like a crazy kid.  Bat Masterson has a c-nip mouse.  Rumsfeld is running around trying to take everything away from the kitties.  I think a good thing is being had by all.

My mother is still feeling quite bad.  I hope it is a bug.  She’s not been able to keep anything down since leaving the ER Sunday evening.  I’m not too happy ...   more »

So far 3 subdivision have been evacuated between the Inn of the Mountain Gods and heading back into town. It looks like they were able to hit it quickly and everyone seems to be heading back home.   The one near Capitan hit 10,000 acres today (already yet)

Ruffini started it with his John McCain Face Book Challenge.   Okay, I did it.  Then I had to do my own darn page.   Please, feel free to sign up on it.  The other week I learned how to Twitter.  This stuff still doesn’t make sense to me.

So, I did the whole darn mess. Charlotte informs me this is how college students waste time.  I believe it. So I have been wasting time uploading photos of the family including a number of baby photos of Miss Beverly Sills, AKA Bubbles Silverman. (I still ...   more »

THURSDAY, MARCH 27

Rumsfeld’s favorite human, Corinna had a little girl last week.  She is the 1st grand-daughter and 1st girl in the family in 27 years.  I think that tells you the state of Grandmother’s emotional stability and baby hogging.  From what I hear Corinna gets to see her when she is nursing and that’s about it.  Babies should go to families where they are drenched in love.  This little one will be getting just that.

I played care package person today.  Walgreen’s had their huge stuffed Easter bunnies at 75% off.   It’s a huge stuffed animal. Sydney, age ...   more »

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26

Evidently the trauma is over.  Everyone, and I do mean everyone is exhausted.  The four-legged members of this establishment are all sleeping.  I’m still working.  I have an interesting video clip for tomorrow morning on Lindsey and the SC VP choices.

It has been a long, windy day.  I did Altar Guild this evening.  I’m glad I did.  Fr. Penn had a wonderful homely about Christ appearing to the Disciples a few days after His Resurrection. I think I may have learned something about faith this evening – we don’t have much, that’s for sure.

SAD NEWS

Earlier today Raymond discovered the tiny bodies of 4 kittens.  Evidently at least 2 of them were stillborn.  The other 2 died not long after their birth.  I thought we probably had 2kittens, but there were 4.  At least one was born on my bedroom floor and the others in the closet - on the new white carpet.  After several days of emotional distress, everyone seems to have finally settled down, exhausted.

Mommy Cat and Rumsfeld were still fighting early this morning, but now seem to have made peace with one another.  She is finally sleeping, no longer ...   more »

TUESDAY, MARCH 25

I am exhausted.  Last night after posting, I realized that Mommy Cat has gone into heat.  It was weird.  The arguments with Rumsfeld continued.  Her attentions to Miss Beverly Sills continued.   I think it was around 1AM or so that I finally went down to my bedroom.  My nice white carpet resembled the floor of a slaughter-house.  Blood was everywhere!  I did not look in the closet.  Just the sight of the blood made me feel queasy.

Mommy Cat keeps looking inside the closet, then stepping out, obviously not nursing.  There are no kitten sounds.  What ...   more »

MONDAY, MARCH 24

I have no idea what is going on with Mommy Cat.  Every time Rumsfeld goes near Beverly Sills, Mommy Cat attacks him, viciously.  The poor little thing is whipped.  We also don’t know what is going on with the baby situation. She has slimmed down considerably since this morning.  About 9PM she came up for water and to nibble.  That would indicate she has finished having what ever it is she had.  She, Little Joe Cartwright and Miss Beverly Sills keep running up and down the steps like that baby scene in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers...   more »

THE GREAT CAT SOAP OPERA

I had a feeling Mommy Cat was due any minute now Saturday night when she started snooping around for a place to 'hatch'.  I did not want her in my closet, but finally this AM when she acted like she wanted to have the babies on my bed I gave up and opened the door for her.

She has been acting strange, and I mean strange, all day. She started around noon, just holding onto Miss Beverly Sills, not letting her out of her sight.  We went up-stairs.  Mommy Cat followed Bubbles to the living ...   more »

I had to be at church at 10AM for Altar Guild.  Finally made it home about 2PM.  It wasn’t bad.  I was assigned the duty of assisting Terry polish the woodwork around the Altar.  I did okay for awhile.  It was the first time I’ve really done any arm movement like that since I broke the elbow two years ago.  After arriving home I piddled around all afternoon.  Last night, very late, I installed Leopard.  It screwed up a few things, but not much at all.  I had to restore my Webshots screen saver and rework my ...   more »

Once again the family kept me awake until early hours of the morning – try 4AM!  This time I finally managed to separate Rumsfeld and Miss Beverly Sills.  I put one on one side and one on the other, and held onto both of them.  After awhile they quieted down and went to sleep – or else I did.  Oh, Mommy Cat is VERY pregnant.

MONDAY, MARCH 17

You read it right, the 5:30AM attack.  It continued until approximately 4:55 when I finally managed to catch the little stinker and lock her out of the bedroom.  She continued to body slam the door and keep Rumsfeld awake until about 5:10 or so.  I think I am the one who fell asleep.

I was asleep when something ran across my head.  It was followed by an even larger something who pounced on top of said head.  There was a meow and a yap.  Variations of this continued for the next twenty minutes or so.  After the ...   more »
