Situation Normal: Baseball Is Back & Braves Lose!

SUNDAY, MARCH 30
Employment Opportunities? I can’t believe I sat down and watched a good 7 innings of the season opener. The Prez looked good. The ESPN interview they did with him was far superior to the White House Press Corp. Joe Morgan did a great job, and asked some good questions. Then the Prez did just a little play-by-play, proving when he is unemployed a year from now he can always get a job doing baseball!
The Braves infield looks good. Even for opening day it was tight.

ISP PROBLEMS – AGAIN I would love to be able to nuke Windstream. I’ve been dealing with them since 5:15PM and it is now 9:08. Something is going on with my ISP and naturally it is me. I’m working a slow as molasses. It is now 10:14. Since writing the above I have had yet another call to Windstream. We’re talking about being on hold for 20 minutes, 18 minutes, and 45 minutes. My first attempt was with one of their outsourced “experts”. I finally managed to get one of their supervisors who helped me regain my ... more »

TUESDAY, MARCH 18

Once again the family kept me awake until early hours of the morning – try 4AM! This time I finally managed to separate Rumsfeld and Miss Beverly Sills. I put one on one side and one on the other, and held onto both of them. After awhile they quieted down and went to sleep – or else I did. Oh, Mommy Cat is VERY pregnant.
Yet another cool dinosaur discovery! Saturn losing rings?

THURSDAY, MARCH 6
I was planning a very interesting post for this evening, but have had DSL connection problems all evening. I apologize for this. Earlier this evening I met with an informed source. I want to apologize to this person for not having the article up as planned due to those technical problems. I do have a new Blog Critics article up about Sarah Palin being preggers and a VP choice.
Thanks to a fascinating source, I promise I will have that immigration story fairly early tomorrow.
This evening I learned the last “safe” place has been defiled. I’ve ... more »

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5
They say confession is good for the soul, but I’m not Catholic, just a pathetic Episcopalian, so there’s no confession here! Maybe it’s more returning to the scene of the crime as we went back to Bisbee for another round of antique shops. I bought two beautiful turn of the century china bowls, then hit a rock shop where I found a magnificent calcite crystal specimen that included shards of pure copper. We bought Killer Bee Honey, from the Killer Bee Guy, who now has a special on the HD version of The Discovery Channel. He ... more »

Watching the Media Ignore John Glenn

TUESDAY, MARCH 4
I wish I believed in live blogging. If so I would be irate. I am the most loyal Republican in the world, BUT when John Glenn, American Hero, comes on, these stupid blank blank (deleted due to Lent) morons in the media need to shut up and snap to attention. That’s Glenn! Have they already forgotten who he is? He is John Glenn Hero Astronaut. You stop everything you are doing and treat him the way you would have treated Ted Williams. There aren’t many people in that league, but John Glenn and Ted Williams are there ... more »

Antiquing in Bisbee & Visiting with a Hero or Two

SUNDAY, MARCH 2
After Lenten services at St. Pauls, we went to Bisbee to antique. If you are not familiar with Bisbee, Arizona, it is a rather picturesque enclave of abject liberals in the extremely conservative Cochise County. It is a Victorian mining town build on the side of a mountain, overlooking one of the great open copper pits. The two main streets are now lined with charming art galleries, antique stores, and unique little shops. I try to hit the shops at least once when I am in Tombstone.
Today we spent much of the afternoon in a very ... more »

Greetings from Tombstone

SATURDAY, MARCH 1
By the time we reached Las Cruces today the temp was pushing 75! There was no wind, and only a few fluffy clouds in powder blue cotton candy spring sky. It literally felt like the first day of spring. Off went the shoes and on went the Brighton sandals! (YES!). Oh the joy. The temps reached into the low 80’s as we drove West. I am now sitting with the windows open. It is chilly, but that’s okay. I can hear a palm tree near me. (sigh of contentment).
It’s good to see Tom Glavin back home ... more »
