I have a real problem here. I am noticing a growing trend within conservative (extreme, not Republican) blog ranks to classify La Raza as racist. Along with that, there seems to be this under tone that maybe Hispanics are less than acceptable. Or, if they are, we’re talking “OUR” Hispanics and the other (UPPITY) Hispanics. I want to tell you about a story I heard today. I am not telling who told it to me. The man is Hispanic. His family has been in New Mexico since the Conquistadors. THEY ARE REPUBLICAN. I think there is this false perception that I do not like conservatives, and have something against them. In a way that is true. I am conservative. The only change I’ve been through in about 20 years of political evolution is the fact that I am now against the death penalty simply because I am so staunchly pro-life.
