View Article  Hacking Quick Fix
The Pink Flamingo has been hacked.  My article links are disappearing like PacMan.

I'm taking steps to secure the site now.  It appears as though the hacker has added a code at the end of my URLS - something like 20%/20/  I am finding if I go to article, it does not appear, I delete that string and it appears to work.  It is a temporary fix.

I was hoping to put a quick end to things, but I recently discovered even repaired articles are having problems.

SATURDAY, JULY 5

I can't find much to blog about this evening. I did a book signing this afternoon at the Tombstone book store.  It was slow, but I did better than expected.  Some friends came by and we visited for awhile.  I have a great new story idea, and that helps - much.  I ended up buying more books than.... well, you know the score.

It rained several times this afternoon - a good, hard rain.  The dirt in the streets where the city officials decided, two years ago, to put dirt down on the streets to give it ...   more »

WHAT IS WRONG WITH FOX?
Have you noticed a (not so) subtle change in FOX News lately?  If CNN was once the “Clinton News Network” perhaps FOX should now be dubbed the Obama News Network.   While I’ve been staying at the Larian (the best place to stay in Tombstone) I’ve been stuck with MSNBC and CNN.  I’ve been picking FOX up on my blasted XM (I hate that thing).  It is rather remarkable.  I am beginning to think that John McCain is getting better coverage and more equal time on CNN.

FAIR AND BALANCED – NOT

FRANTIC FUND-RAISING
Remember in May, Barack Obama only raised 22 million, his weakest showing to date.  June’s numbers are not in yet, but if the frantic fundraising pace is any indicator, June may not be all that good either.  Meanwhile, the Dems are crying fowl (intended spelling) over a new loop-hole the GOP has found to raise more money.  While there is all this weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth by the Dems and their MSM supporters, maybe they should remember how Obama cheated by going back on his word about federal funds. This is politics, and all is ...   more »

FRIDAY, JULY 4

Tombstone is America in microcosm. In order to understand the heart and soul of America you need to understand two things baseball and Tombstone.  More than a mining town, dirty and small minded, Tombstone is a symbol.  It is America's version of Camelot.  Wyatt Earp is our King Arthur.  If the characters and storyline of Tombstone had not existed America would have invented it.

Wyatt Earp, age 79, 1928

WEDNESDAY, JULY 3
I am like a little kid bouncing off the wall.  I made an incredible Wyatt Earp discovery today, thanks to Marge & Steve Elliott and their museum here in Tombstone.  Steve had a set of programs that once belonged to Wyatt, c1906 out of LA.  The opera lover in me is just like a little kid at Christmas.  Wyatt Earp loved opera.  He was a big fan of Verdi.  I saw the programs, and the reviews clipped from the papers.  Can you imagine? Wyatt Earp loved Opera. I purchased a folio of some exciting research material.  I ...   more »

NATIONAL SERVICE FOR ALL
I'd not paid much attention to Barack Obama's July 2 speech on national service until I listened to Michael Medved this evening.  I highly INSIST that you listen to the first half hour of his show today.  It is chilling.  If you weren't planning on voting for John McCain before, this will make you do so.  Medved mentioned something that was not in Obama's prepared text:  He is planning a civilian security force to augment the military.  Can you say Gestapo? His plans for national service are terrifying.  This man basically wants to take over ...   more »

BARACK'S LITTLE FRIENDS

Like I said last night, it's a cheap shot, but it's a fun one.  We all need a few cheap thrills these days and I'm no exception.  Have you noticed that no one's brought up the following:

Barack Obama + Bill Ayers + Hugo Chavez (+/- Chavez's FARC connection)
From Little Green Footballs:
"...Obama hasn’t said a whole lot about Colombia other than to criticize President Bush’s good relations with President Uribe. With this correspondence suggesting that FARC knows what he thinks, maybe the American voters have a right to know what he thinks, too. Five questions ...   more »

Do you want me to admit I have a shoe problem?  Alright, already yet.  I have a shoe problem.  Then, add to it 40% off plus another 30% off and well, Houston, we have a problem. There were two pair of the cutest reptile mules, kitten heals, one in gold, the other in bronze.  I bought both.  Look they were nearly two hundred bucks a pair - you go figure how much they were at 70% off!  I admit - I bought 5 other pair - all for fall.  Then there was this adorable hot pink D/B ...   more »

OKAY, IT’S A CHEAP SHOT

It may be a heap shot, but it’s such a good cheap shot I can’t resist it.   What do these things have in common:

Hugo Chavez
Bill Ayers
FARC

Well, they are Barack Obama’s little Marxist friends, who are getting thrown under the bus in the Obamassiah’s attempt to become more moderate than John McCain.  Fact is, it makes the piece that circulated today about John McCain roughing up a Sandinista all the more fascinating. Big Lizards has more on the story.
"...President Reagan had a long-term plan to drive the Sandinistas out of power; ...   more »

NO SENSE OF HUMOR?

I think the studies they’ve done on Conservatives and Liberals may be true.  I’d rather term it Republicans and Democrats and for this commentary I will.  We lovely Republicans are happier, kinder, and more generous.  I wonder  how that corresponds to the theory that we are rude, nasty, and don’t give anything to anyone?  Liberals are alleged to be the most perfect beings since the Olympic gods graced ancient Greece. (Oh, wait, they were nasty little you know what’s weren’t they?)

I guess I’m tired liberals who complain about how bad we are, but forget ...   more »

TUESDAY, JULY 1

I can't get over how much cooler it is here in Tombstone this year!  It is a good 15 degrees cooler than last  year!  We're getting some very nice rain.

My internet is "fast" but quirky.  I think it is the encryption.  I was up until 2AM working on it last night/this morning and refuse to do that today - so I've been inside all day working.  Tomorrow things are going to change.  You will get one blog post.  I'm on "vacation" and am not going to spend my entire day blogging.

This Week’s “Subliminal Smear” – McCain’s Experience - via the military.

STOP SMEARING BIG MAC

Are you as angry as I am?   I know politics is politics, but when is enough enough?  Today at lunch, I was in tears as I thought about the mistreatment of John McCain, not at the hands of the communists, but at the hands of the Democrats.   It wasn’t because I am a supporter of Senator McCain, but because of the past.  I was a teenager when those images of the POWs returning home filtered in (black and white) to the ...   more »

FASTEN YOUR SEAT-BELTS

We could be in for a bumpy ride.  Larry Sinclair has provided his phone records - and strangely enough, they point Sinclair, not Barack Obama, telling the truth. From Obama Who?
"...“A newly released CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll found that if Obama does not select Clinton as his running mate, 22 percent of her supporters would stay home this fall (almost 4 million voters) — and another 17 percent (a little over 3 million) would vote for McCain.” –CNN (parentheses are mine). So, if we use 2004 as the baseline - GWB won with 62 million voters ...   more »

MONDAY, JUNE 30

I'm finally getting the hang of the DSL here.  It is faster than mine at home, but very quirky.  I think if I were closer to the hub I might not have as many problems with it.

It is a good 15 degrees cooler this summer here in Tombstone than it was last year.  I'm still hot and bothered, but it is mainly frustration tempered with exhaustion. Last night I slept for 10 hours.  It is probably because I drove the whole way, after having no sleep the previous night.  Doc was celebrating the fact that Rumsfeld ...   more »

MANNERS OR REAL LIFE?
Even though I am acting like a crazed you know what this week, trying to make due with limited internet connections, limited air conditioning, and having to get my FOX via an annoying XM system, I try to be polite to people.  As cranky and you know what-chy I've been lately, I am not rude to people.  If I am, you will know it, big time.  I dislike people who aren't fair.  I dislike people who take advantage of others.  And - one of the things I dislike most is someone who talks a big game ...   more »

HONORING AN AMERICAN HERO
The other day I read somewhere on a blog that it is possible the younger group, kids not old enough to vote, look at the world much differently than their older college going siblings with their newly washed brains. Because the teen set is so completely into their game systems and saving the universe, they have a tendency to look for heroes. They live super-heroes in their comics, movies, television and game systems. They are also rather affected by the whole 9/11 trauma.

It makes sense.  My 18 year old niece looks at the world much ...   more »

WHY DO LIBERALS HATE MUSLIMS?

Let's be honest here.  Religion and politics are getting out of hand.  I feel sorry for the good honest athiest who one day decides to run for President of the United States.  She doesn't stand a snowball's chance, even if she is a liberal.  The reason I say this about liberals is there's a dirty little secret out there.  Evidently liberals are more prejudiced againt religion - all religions, than we previously thought possible.

Case in point:

Chickenhawk Express treats us to one of the most luscious and remarkable "exposes" to date.  Some self-righteous Obama ...   more »

SATURDAY, JUNE 28

I am rushing around, trying to get ready to leave tomorrow AM.  Nothing is really packed.  I've been working the blog for several hours.  I have a few good articles line up to post next week so I need not spend my whole vacation time working. I dropped Rumsfeld off at the "spa" fairly early this AM.  He acted like he was glad to see his buddies.  Last I heard, he was planning to host a party, and his buddy, Beans was going to spend the night with him.  I've been working on the blog and doing ...   more »

STOP THE SMEAR?
Evidently Barack Obama is the gift that keeps on giving. The MSM here in the US is ignoring the Great Birth Certificate Debacle, but fortunately there is the Israeli press.  The Israli Insider isn't letting this story go away, fortunately.  Then there is the great fundraising lie - only the "little people" are supporting Barack Obama.  Horse Hockey!  Even deeper horse hockey is the fact that the American MSM is fawning, all in love with the Great Obamassiah.  They don't care to dig beyond the campaign rhetoric, even when it changes every other minute or two.  It ...   more »

DOES ANYONE CARE
What she's doing isn't very glamorous.  There aren't many photographers following her around.  She isn't getting much good press for her adventures, and she's not being compared to Jackie.  You aren't seeing many "conservative" blogs talking about what she's being doing, but the Hillary blogs are full of it!  Naturally she isn't being covered by FOX.  There they are oh so busy pandering to Barack Obama and doing anything possible to sandbag her husband. You can read about her humanitarian mission primarily on the McCain Blogett or on the campaign web site. One of the projects ...   more »

FRIDAY, JUNE 27

The drip continues.  I don't know if I should classify it as a fountain or a small waterfall.  I've yet to hear from the person who is fixing it, and I'm leaving on Sunday AM.

BTW - please keep my cousin Jim in your prayers.  He's having every miserable side effect of a bone marrow transplant anyone could have.

This evening I looked up to see Rumsfeld and Bubbles carrying in one of the sticks I use to hold up one of the plants.  Evidently removing it was a joint operation of guilt and creativity.  They came ...   more »

THE PSYCH OPS SMEAR GAME
The on FOX, we were treated to the same old litany from the Obama campaign.  It was the same song, just a new verse. FOX appears to be in the tank for Barack Obama.  If you will notice, FOX covers Obama's speeches with adoration, and cuts into McCains. When FOX does use a "real" Republican, they use Karl Rove.  The rest of the time they resort to extreme conservatives like Bay Buchanan and Laura Ingraham, neither one of whom have any love for the GOP. They are falling lock-step into the Obama Subliminal smear campaign...   more »

OUR CULTURE OF DEATH

Have you done any serious channel surfing on the movie channels lately?  If you have a weak stomach like I do, it is enough to sicken you.  Even during the day, when allegedly, things should be ‘child friendly’, it is nothing but carnage. I’ve reached the point, at night, when I finally put this blasted blog to bed and I try doing the same (says a heck of a lot about my social life, doesn’t it) I grab a book and do some channel surfing.  At night it is – vile.  Why must we be treated ...   more »
